The Breakfast Club - June 30, 2010

Online headline: "Larry King Says He's Ending CNN Show" -- Too bad he had to announce it on Fox News so someone would hear it.
---
Online story: "Cuba uses repressive laws, a well-oiled state security apparatus and complicit courts to stifle political dissent as it harasses, spies on and imprisons those who openly oppose its communist system, Amnesty International said in a report released Wednesday." -- Reckon potUS Nero-bama is trying to overtake Cuba so DIM/DUMBorats will be happy by 2012?
---
How can universities and colleges claim to be centers of diversity and enlightenment, yet prohibit conservative, Christian, and 1st Amendment groups and speakers?
---
How can the upper echelon of the DIM/DUMBorats extol the abusive confiscatory practices of Senator Byrd for using his committee powers to divert 100s of millions of tax dollars to WV for self-aggrandizing projects yet blast ex-Governor Blagojevich for wanting to capitalize on his position?
---
I've had it! Kleenology of Columbus should be shut down! Every number I have is registered on the www.donotcall.gov list, but Kleenology robo-calls them all. If any one is doing business with them, please discontinue doing business with them. I'm just glad I can file complaints about them, and I hope the government will fine them for every penny it can!
---
How much more will England take? Since he's been in office, potUS Nero-bama has insulted the Brits by sending a gifted bust of Sir Winston Churchill back, gifting one Prime Minister with a DVD set in the wrong format for European TV, considered a gift of an iPod full of his speeches, and refused to drink an ale with the current Prime Minister because, in English tradition, it was served at room temperature.
---
WTVM9 headline: "Marshals arrest several during evictions, traffic stops" -- Wow...making arrests after making stops for other offenses... Hey, Lee, isn't that all that Arizona's new law is allowing?
---
Unnecessary law and probable expense: From a L-E story: "Legislation requiring the Georgia Department of Education to provide each school in the state access to a list of all registered sex offenders" -- Any teacher, actually any person with internet access can already get this info from not only the GBI, but our own Sheriff's Department. Making it another law just insures it will cause an additional MCSD employee (or department) to be added at taxpayer expense plus diverting those tax dollars out of the classrooms.
---
L-E headline/story: "Uninsured in poor health can enroll in new program this week * here’s the catch: Premiums will be a stretch for many, even after government subsidies to bring rates close to what healthier groups of people are charged * In California, for example, the cost for a 50-year-old is estimated at $575 a month, with a $1,500 annual deductible and 15 percent co-insurance." -- Hmmm, so for an individual, $8,400 in premium & deductable plus 15% co-pay is suppose to be a bargain that the uninsured can afford? Based on IRS rules of tax deductions for medical expenses exceeding 7% of your income, an individual would have to be making in excess of $120K to benefit from this policy. How much will it cost if it's for a family of 4?
---
L-E headline: "Czechs oppose plan for Michael Jackson statue" -- Hmmm, maybe I have some, no, a lot Czech blood in my ancestry lineage...
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “The good Lord set definite limits on man’s wisdom, but set no limits on his stupidity — and that’s not fair!” — Konrad Adenauer, German statesman (1876-1967). " -- Hmmm, guess Adenauer recognized DIM/DUMBorats way back then..
---
A L-E "soundoff": "Gen. McChrystal was not fired for telling the truth. He was fired for violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice — insubordination. He’s lucky he wasn’t prosecuted. " -- What a liberal dilemma; having to admit McChrystal was truthful, and potUS Nero-bama was vindictive in order to digest what happened as being just!
---
From L-E story: " “The overall picture that she portrayed of the situation seems to me to be disconnected to the reality,” Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, the top Republican on the committee, said after an extended spat with Kagan. “I believe that’s a serious matter.” He also said she was not “rigorously accurate.” Sessions said he expected “intellectual honesty” from prospective justices." -- "Intellectual honesty"...from a self-assessed DIM/DUMB who worked for XPOTUS Clinton and potUS Nero-bama; you have to be kidding, Senator Sessions!
---
Speaking of Kagan, how can someone even be considered for a seat on the US Supreme Court who primarily defines herself as a DIM/DUMBorat versus an American?
---
L-e story: "The Canadian Civil Liberties Association called for a public inquiry Tuesday into security operations at the G-20 and G-8 summits, which resulted in the largest mass arrests in Canadian history and included the use of tear gas and rubber bullets on protesters. “We have police brutality, illegal searches, arbitrary detentions, people being asked all sorts of questions and being harassed,” Nathalie Des Rosiers, general counsel for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, said Tuesday." -- Excuse me? 20 of the worlds leaders are amassed in one location, and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association wants the police to play a game of 20 questions before determining if a protester may or may not be a threat to one of the 20? Only in the minds (versus brains) of liberals....
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Guard against the impostures of pretend patriots" George Washington, First US President, 1732-1799 -- Obviously, George Washington was not a DIM/DUMBorat.
---
L-E headline: "ALABAMA FOOTBALL * Saban statue may not be done by season opener * Unveiling may wait until midseason " -- OOOOOOh! He better be careful for what he wishes for; by mid-season Bama fans might be ready to "suspend" that statue from the limb of an Oak tree.

The Breakfast Club - June 29, 2010

From Uber-liberal Alan Colmes commentary headline/story: "Byrd evolved, unlike many of his critics" * "Robert Byrd evolved as a man. Isn't that something we all wish for ourselves? And isn't that the truly Christian way? " -- Speaking of unevolved critics, Alan Colmes, heal thyself. When was the last time, no, the first time you thanked Bush & Cheney, or even Strom Thurmond for their service, and apologized for your bashing?
---
Online headline: "10 Alleged Russian Secret Agents Arrested in US" -- Ooops, my bad; thought their had been a raid on a DIM/DUMBorat Congressional Committee caucus.
---
Online headline: "Supreme Court Extends Gun Owners' Rights Nationwide" -- WRONG! The US Supreme Court just upheld the rights guaranteed to all law abiding American citizens by the US Constitution.....unfortunately, just barely.
---
Online headline/story: "Congress blasts Medicaid hole in states' budgets * Massachusetts lawmakers had to make these and other difficult cuts last week after discovering they had to slash another nearly $700 million out of the state budget. The Bay State had assumed Congress would pass $24 billion in additional Medicaid funding for states before their fiscal years start on July 1." -- Why would Massachusetts, GA for that matter, even look for Medicaid help? Massachusetts is basically the HELL-thSCare poster child, and potUS Nero-bama has already promised to reduce Medicaid $500,000,000.00 annually as part of HIS HELL-thScare.
---
L-E headline/story: "Obama spectrum plan would boost wireless broadband * One such social benefit could be the development of the Next Generation Air Transportation System, which seeks to transform the ground-based system of air traffic control into a satellite system. "Getting GPS into planes is a central goal of NextGen," (Jason) Furman (the deputy director of the National Economic Council) said. "If we can find the funding to invest more in it, we think we could make it more effective."-- Excuse me....why would satellite GPS control of air traffic be less likely to be interrupted than say satellite TV transmissions? Can you imagine the havoc a thunderstorm around Atlanta, Chicago, or LAX could cause? What dangers would one plane's GPS system being short-circuited by lightning cause? Back to the drawing board...
---
From online story: "Byrd was a master of the Senate's bewildering rules and longtime chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which controls a third of the $3 trillion federal budget. He was willing to use both to reward friends and punish those he viewed as having slighted him." -- In others words, he was vindictive and coercive. Those, my friends, are not character traits we consider complimentary, or that we want to hold up as a role model for our children.
---
With DIM/DUMBorats praising Senator Byrd as though he was "a messiah", will they wrap him in a shroud that has eye-holes cut out?
---
With his background in the KKK, how can his fellow DIM/DUMBorat comrades extol his character and not get steamrolled like Senator Trent Lott did when he placated Senator Strom Thurmond?
---
How can Senator Byrd be canonized as a 'saint' when his whole existence was about perpetuating his name on every building , dam, and highway he could get built with earmarked tax dollars?
---
The deaths of Senators Kennedy and Byrd should be a wake up call, not just for term limits, but for a reasonable retirement age for Senators and Representatives. When elected officials are not able to attend and contribute daily when in session, it puts their jobs in the hands of their staffs who are not elected. Do I think age makes one disqualified for election, NO, but when age and health undermine one's capabilities, there should be a solution for the people they represent, and even though such representatives are elected by the voters in their districts, their input/decisions affect us all, and when age and health affect their abilities, everyone suffers.
---
The L-E's "LATE LAUGHS " : "MEXICO has filed a brief against Arizona’s new immigration law. It’s a precedent because it’s the first immigration law Mexico has paid any attention to. Jay Leno" -- While it is a joke Mexico has done this, it's sad the only reaction by the media is to accept it only as a joke; it should be a wake-up call.

The Breakfast Club - June 28, 2010

From a fellow BCer:

I do not like this Uncle Sam,

I do not like his health care scam.

I do not like these dirty crooks,

or how they lie and cook the books.

I do not like when Congress steals,

I do not like their secret deals.

I do not like this speaker Nan,

I do not like this 'YES, WE CAN'.

I do not like this spending spree---

I'm smart, I know that nothing's free.

I do not like your smug replies,

when I complain about your lies.

I do not like this kind of hope.

I do not like it. nope, nope, nope!

---

---
If I hadn't decided before hand, I do believe Pop Barnes is decidedly more needed, deserving of being re-elected to Council. It was disgusting that Nathan Suber threw out the "race card" as part of his election strategy. Even though I cannot vote in that race, I'm sending Pop Barnes a donation, and hope many of you will also. The people who can't distinguish between right and wrong based solely on race no longer need to be in positions of power in our government. For the record, I've known Tony Adams 'forever' and have always been impressed with his abilities of mentoring and leadership, but what has been revealed within the Parks & Recreation Department needs to be brought into the open, and dealt with. Tim Chitwood needs to be taken to the wood shed for his flaming the fires of racism.
---
A local Savannah, GA protest of off-shore drilling got a whopping 635 signatures on a petition it is sending to POTus Nero-bama. Hmmm, out of about 343,000 in the Savannah MSA, that's about 1 out of every 540 who agree with them.
---
So POTus Nero-bama has pledged to the G20 that he will cut our deficit by 50% in 3 years. I know of only two ways to do that: either run the US Mint's printing presses 24/7 and let inflation run amok, or chop back the entitlement programs that consume 65% of Congressional spending of tax dollars. Hmmm, now which road do you think Ali-Obama and his 40 Tsars will take?
---
L-E headline: "Frustrated by boycott, station owners want BP help" -- Hmm, if BP stations want to get me back to their pumps, then they should insure me that they aren't using ethanol blend gasoline. I won't put corn in my gas tank.
---
Senator Byrd...may he rest.........

The Breakfast Club - June 27, 2010

Succinct online nutshell of the McChrystal resignation: "By replacing McChrystal, Obama appears to be supporting Eikenberry/Holbrooke and putting the overall mission in jeopardy. Petreaus now has the upper hand. If he fails he can blame everyone before him and Obama is stuck with him. If Obama tries to get rid of Petreaus he will look indecisive, grasping first at one general and then another. By firing McChrystal Obama has succeeded in letting Rolling Stone run the campaign--not the best result for a commander in chief." --
---
Online story: "When Obama and Cameron met later in Toronto, they exchanged bottles of beer in a semi-pay off of their bet on the U.S.-England game that ended in a tie. Cameron got a bottle of Chicago's Goose Island while Obama was presented with Hobgoblin from the Wychwood Brewery. "I advised him that in America, we drink our beer cold (so) he has to put it in a refrigerator before he drinks it," the president said of his advice to Cameron. Some Brits drink their ale at room temperature, but not Obama. "I will not drink it warm," he said. " -- What a diplomat....NOT! POTus Nero-bama gave the previous British PM DVD's in a format not used in England, and now snubs the current PM by refusing to drink the gift of ale in the British tradition.
---
Barbara Fabian...you go girl!
---
Online headline: "Couple Charged With Beating and Starving Children" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought this might have been about Pelosi & Reid.
---
From a Zogby poll:
Suspicions confirmed! 90% of Republicans get news updates from daily TV news, and only 73% of DIM/DUMBorats get daily news updates on TV. Even more revealing is that quite a number of DIM/DUMBs have moved over to Fox News.
While 12% say they are watching Fox News, 61% of DIM/DUMBorats get their news opinions from NBC/CNN. That means over 80% of the DIM/DUMBs who watch news get misinformed opinions. It also shows that 1 in 4 DIM/DUMBs are completely uninformed.
---
From the same BCer:

One question survey from WSB, Atlanta . Take this survey and pass the link on to anyone you know in Georgia . There is only one question.

L-E headline/story: "Midget wrestling at Oxygen nightclub Thursday night * By SONYA SORICH - ssorich@ledger-enquirer.com * Some partiers raved about midget wrestling days before it came to town, calling it an entertaining break from the usual downtown mix. * Others weren't as keen on the idea, describing it with terms like "exploitative" and "demeaning." * And me? I arrived at Oxygen with an open mind and a photographer/videographer on hand." -- Sounds more like she arrived to capture the exploitation on film & tape so she could be the biggest exploiter in the room.
---
Why is it acceptable, no, reasonable, for more money per square foot be spent building the new City Service Building than is spent on new luxury housing?
---
L-E story: "NEW YORK — Two U.S. Census Bureau managers in Brooklyn have been fired over allegations that they forged questionnaires. * According to reports in The New York Times and the New York Daily News on Saturday, officials said about 10,000 household interviews would have to be redone to ensure that the count is accurate. * The two managers were fired on June 18 but do not face criminal charges, (The Census Bureau’s New York regional director, Tony) Farthing said." -- Say what! At a minimum, since this is a Constitutionally mandated function of government, all NY Senators and Congresspersons should be publicly flogged if they don't press charges.
---
All these pundits that see the all-electric car as "the solution", obviously never had teenaged children. Remember when parents who let their children take the family car off for the evening based on the child's promise to put some gas in the car before coming home, but when the parent got in the vehicle the next morning, the gas gauge was sitting on "E"? Do parents today think their teenage drivers will be responsible enough to remember to "plug in" the car before coming into the house? I'll bet the parents who 'feel" that 'yes' is the answer also 'feel' their children will pick up their rooms and take out the trash without being asked.
---
Give me one good reason POTus Nero-bama has not waived the Jones Act so foreign ships can aid in the Gulf oil spill cleanup. Oh, union support... Give me one good reason why American citizens should support unions or the politicians who kowtow to them.

The Breakfast Club - June 26, 2010

Admiral Mullen, head honcho of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said our projected National Debt's INTEREST alone in 2012 will be more than $500 Billion dollars. That is more than the entire Defense Budget, and that makes the National Debt the biggest threat to our National Security. Who would have thought anyone/anything could have dropped Osama bin Laden to #2 in the Top 10 terrorists?
---
Senator and Congressman Frank say they have no idea how or if the 2000+ page financial reform bill will work. Excuse me, but after the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac catastrophe, why are Dodd & Frank allowed to be near any finance bill?
---
Speaking of Fannie & Freddie -
Online story: "Taxpayer-owned mortgage giant Fannie Mae is targeting families by going after struggling homeowners who strategically default on their mortgage, the firm announced Wednesday. * A default is considered strategic when homeowners have the capacity to pay, yet choose to walk away from their mortgage. The trigger, researchers say, is negative equity: When the value of a home is less than what the lender is owed on it, borrowers are more likely to strategically default." -- Hmmm, so when homeowner vacates because it no longer makes financial sense to stay, Fannie Mae tracks'em down, but when the homeowners default but don't vacate because they can't afford a different home/apt, Fannie Mae lets them stay free? These laws/rules were drawn up by people who claim to represent us to the best of their abilities...and after HELL-thScare, and now this, I'm beginning to believe them. Hurry November!
---
From a fellow BCers:
---
Another BCer brought this to my attention:
WTVM story: "Auburn reintroduces snakes into AL habitat" -- Another , "Ooops, my bad!" situation. We both thought Bobby Lowder had made a new appearance.
---
Online headline: "Pakistan Convicts 5 Americans of Terrorism"-- Ooops, my bad! Just knew that the Pakistani's had captured POTus Nero-bama, VPOTus Biden, Pelosi, Reid and Barney Frank.. Feel pretty let down at the moment...
---
Online headline: "10 most over-rated things in America in 2010" -- How did Larry King and Chris Matthews, Obama bin Biden, Pelosi and Reid get left off this list?
---
Online WTVM9 headline: "May jobless rate declines in metro Columbus" -- But what's the rest of the story? Does this figure reflect that more people working lowered the figure, or does it reflect that fewer people were actually looking for jobs?
---
How can the White House complain about Fox News being biased against POTus Nero-bama & Cohorts. Correspondent Major Garrett is basically a Nero-bama spinmeister, and Shepherd Smith and Geraldo Rivera could easily be anchor stars on CNN or MSNBC.
---
What is this "brilliant" executive decision the drive-by media is congratulating POTus Nero-bama for making? General McChrystal resigned!
---
In a Press Conference, POTus Nero-bama referred to the internet social network as "Twitters". Being caught in the gaffe, he back pedaled by saying, "I have never used Twitter, but I'm an advocate of technology and not restricting Internet access," he said in a town hall meeting. "My thumbs are too clumsy to type in things on the phone." -- Wonder if Algore will call a Press Conference saying he invented "Twitter".
---
Online story: "Another Federal Agency Launches Spill Probe * It's the sixth government investigation into the gulf oil disaster. That has many people asking: Is anyone in charge?" -- Hmmm, seems to me the government should be trying to 'plug the hole', not opening 6 new ones.
---
Online story: "NICE, France (June 25) -- A convict dubbed the "Hannibal Lecter of France" has been sent to prison for 30 years after admitting that he attacked his cellmate and ate part of his lung after sauteing it with onions on a makeshift prison grill." -- 30 more years? The guy may live that long and be released. What they should be doing is "French frying his (_@_)"
---
Columbus got a big boost yesterday; Edwin Jackson tossed a 'no-hitter', and Kysor/Warren hit a home run!

The Breakfast Club - June 25, 2010

Online headline/story: "Alien Invasion: Asian Carp Breach Great Lakes Barrier * Like most invasive species, the Asian carp was introduced with the hope of doing good. Originally introduced to clean catfish ponds and in experiments to filter sewage, the creatures eventually escaped during floods in the 1990s and headed into adjoining rivers." -- This reads like the "play book" of liberal legislation. Intentions were 'good', but results catastrophic! Substitute "Illegal Immigrant Labor" for "Alien" and "Asian Carp" and see if it doesn't describe this problem, too.
---
Online headline: "Illness Hits Epidemic Level in California" -- Ooops, my bad..thought some liberal judge had declared 'liberalism' as a disease so libs would have a case to describe themselves as 'victims'. Hmmm, might not be a bad idea; then we could send them all to rehab.
---
Online headline: "Tylenol Maker Expects to Have Drug Shortages Through 2010" -- Guess it's expecting a continually increasing demand for headache control up until the November elections.
---
L-E headline/story: "Parks & Rec audit: Adams’ attorney says mayor using police to carry out vendetta * Jackson said Adams and Porter have done nothing wrong." -- Hmmm...that's why Jackson was hired? Though details are still sketchy to the public, the formation of an undisclosed (to Council et al) private grant seeking foundation for P&R use by P&R personnel is a very big "red flag".
---
The war in Afghanistan is looking like a repeat of the way the Viet Nam war ended. The liberal media. Congress, and the POTus Nero-bama administration are tying the hands of the military to do an effective job. The 'rules of engagement' currently in place are destroying the morale of soldiers there and their families here.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Fame will go by and, so long, I’ve had you, Fame. If it goes by, I’ve always known itwas fickle. So at least it’s something I experience, but that’s not where I live.” — Marilyn Monroe, American actress (1926-1962)." -- Huh? This must have been the impetus to create the "Dumb Blonde Joke" genre.
---
L-E story: "(Lifetime) network announced Wednesday that Jill Biden will make a guest appearance on the military drama to raise awareness of the contributions by U.S. men and women in uniform as well as their families." -- Huh? This must apply only to DIM/DUMBorats and their lemming voters. Conservative Americans have always known the contributions our military and their families have made, and continue to make.
---
L-E headline/story: "R E A LLY ? * Art exhibit imagines a greener 2030 * NEW YORK — Imagine no cars — or fewer, anyway. * In New York, a two-milestretch of the FDR Drive parkway is torn down to open lower Manhattan for parks and plazas, and bicyclists are given their own lane on the Brooklyn Bridge. * “We hired 10 architects from cities all over the world to help us imagine what their cities might look like in 2030 if we made the cities more human scale, more environmentally sustainable,” said Walter Hook, the executive director of the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy, which organized the exhibit with funding from the San Francisco-based ClimateWorks Foundation." -- Liberals!!!!! Here's another example of "good intentions" with a guaranteed failure expectancy.
---
L-E story: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Both candidates in the Democratic primary runoff for Alabama attorney general want a review of how the death penalty is carried out and one is calling for a moratorium on executions." -- Lets hope the Alabama primary voters will vote for "None of the Above".
---
Has it been a full year since Michael Jackson's death? Seems like it just happened 20-25 years ago.
---
L-E headline: "Relief wells effort may take longer than expected" -- May take longer than expected?
---
From above story on the 'relief well': "Based on what they find, they’ll make adjustments every few hundred feet in an effort to intercept those pipes and kill the gusher by pumping it full of tons of heavy drilling mud and then concrete." -- Has this been the 'plan' all along? Isn't this the equivalent of trying to use a cork to stop diarrhea?

The Breakfast Club - June 24, 2010

Saw the best bumper sticker I've seem in a long time yesterday...."Give War A Chance".
---
Online headline: "Al Gore Accused of 'Unwanted Sexual Contact' in 2006" -- Ooops, my bad! Figured this was about Tipper's first thoughts of divorce.
---
Online story: "Harry Potter fanatic Jeff Guillaume said he was "quite disappointed" after park officials turned him away from the (Harry Potter) Hogwarts-touring attraction because his 5-foot, 8-inch, 265-pound frame was deemed too large for the ride's safety harnesses." -- At 5'8", his frame is not part of his 265 lb problem. What does the man expect...that a safety harness should accommodate his problem yet be able to shrink small enough to allow a 125 lb teen to be strapped in safely, too? Get a life buddy! You at 5'8" and 265 pounds and me at 6'6" are going to have to adjust to the world whether it be park rides or automobiles or airplane seating.
---
Online story: "NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- More than 1,200 prison inmates, including 241 serving life sentences, defrauded the government of $9.1 million in tax credits reserved for first-time homebuyers, according to a Treasury Department report released Wednesday." -- This is a program designed by the same people who are trying to force HELL-thScare down our throats (I'm being polite, 'they' are really trying to force "it" up our arses).
---
L-E headline: "Central YMCA comes down" -- Question: Why was an out-of-town company hired for the demolition?
---
L-E headline: "Obama says change in command will not affect American war policy" -- (wink, wink)
---
Online story: "A new Canadian study shows that gay men use more of their brains than straight men. -- Hmmm, bet this was funded by a crack socialized medical research team.---
Online headline: "Meet the Worst U.S. Baseball Giveaway ... EVER" -- Ooops, my bad; thought the White Sox were giving away autographed POTus Nero-bama pictures throwing out the first pitch.
---
Online headline: "Judge Who Nixed Drilling Ban Had Oil Investments" -- Don't we all in some form or another, and the US economy/budget has a tremendous investment in our oil businesses...
---
Online headline: "Van der Sloot's Mother Claims He's Mentally Ill" -- DOH! Probably inherited, too!
---
Online headline: "Mexico Joins Fight Against Ariz. Immigration Law" --Doesn't this just add the exclamation point to why Arizona needs their new law?
---
A fellow BCer responded to a yesterday comment: "I think you missed a good one in the happy meal lawsuit. The toy made me buy a happy meal? What ever happened to parents just saying no to their children?" -- Hmmm...I didn't include the 'toy' because the last time I bought a Happy Meal for the toy, the toy was not edible, thus non-contributing to my obesity. q'-)
---
L-E "soundoff": "In what other city would a city employee refuse to answer questions from his boss, the city manager, regarding expenditure of city funds in his city department and still keep his city job? " -- Amen!
---
Another "soundoff": " I can see the billboards now: “Move over Mike Slocumb and Ken Nugent.” We’ll soon have a new billboard: “Stacey Jackson, the official lawyer for parks and recreation.” -- heh heh heh
---
From the "confusing headlines of the L-E" department: "Man accused of killing wife gets $500,000 bond " -- Is that a Savings or Municipal bond, and do real good, AAA+ wives have a higher bond value?
---
L-E headline: "Court agrees to pay Gary’s DNA expert " -- Well, then let "the court" pay it rather than siphoning out of taxpayer pockets!
---
Hope the Parks & Rec investigation includes delving into the old and new 501 (c) 3 foundations created and staffed by P&R personnel. With what has been revealed so far, a foundation created to solicit grants reeks of impropriety.
---
From a L-E letter writer: "If Davis Broadcasting can get the Civic Center and take the event (Family Day in the Park) inside, the attendance I think will go back up to 15,000 to 20,000 or more." -- Obviously a DIM/DUMBorat supporter demonstrating, once again, that even 'free' loses it's drawing appeal to those who have come to expect things 'free'. Wonder if the writer was one of the 6K that showed up or one of the 15K who didn't? Besides, if the Civic Center could get 20,000 people in it, the Civic Center could attract major entertainment acts....
---
L-E headline: "New home sales down without aid " -- Of course, new home sales were 'up' because of prison inmates buying houses and collecting the $8,000.00 'credits'. Now, the housing market will have to redigest those houses as they come back on the market as 'repos'.
---
L-E headline: "Fed strikes more cautious tone on U.S. recovery" -- Reversing the Fed non-cautious strikes AT the US economy?

The Breakfast Club June 23, 2010

There's no doubt that General McChrystal is a product of the Nero-bama administration. First, what conservative would sit down with a reporter from Rolling Stone magazine, but more revealing is that McChrystal fired his aide, the messenger, to establish the "blame". This is from Page 1 of the Nero-bama playbook.
---
Just in: Rumor has it that General McChrystal has been replaced by Generalette McWendy, formerly known as Clara Peller who was known by her proclamation of "Where's the beef!".
---
One thing for sure is that POTus Nero-bama made a tactical mistake when he committed only 30,000 troops to the 'surge' when McChrystal wanted 40,000. No matter what the outcome, McChrystal always has an out. In my world, when you want a person to get a job done, give him the tools he says he need to accomplish the mission with. You don't give a carpenter a tack hammer when he says the job calls for a framing hammer.
---
From the "what goes on in California should stay in California" department - The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a California advocacy group (doh!), said Tuesday that it will sue McDonald's unless it stops using toys to promote Happy Meals within 30 days." -- Wouldn't it be more effective to sue the parents who drive-in, and buy their children Happy Meals?
---Online headline: "New Push to End "UFO Secrecy" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought it was about revealing the "Unions For Obama"
---
Little Chief DIM/DUMBorat, Denny Hoyer of Maryland says the defense budget should be the main area of cuts to fix the budget deficits. Excuse me....the Defense of this country is one of the few things the Constitutions says the Federal government is responsible for, yet 2/3rd's of the actual budget is spent on liberal entitlement programs.
---
L-E story: "Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam, will speak Saturday in Atlanta" -- How did Farrakhan and Honorable get in one sentence?
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee County grand jury indicts man for murder in Herta Bailey case" -- Finally, a "True Bill"; now we can pray for TRUE JUSTICE!
---
L-E headline/story: "City orders Parks & Rec workers to talk to police * “I am trying to get to the truth,” Wetherington said." -- While we can hope he will be successful, can he handle "the Truth"?
---
L-E headline: "Firefighters battle to keep wildfires away from Flagstaff " -- Ominously missing was "Smokey el Oso".
---
L-E headline: "Judge blocks deep-water drilling ban" -- Without reading any further into the article, I can bet on two things with certainty: The judge is not from California, and POTus Nero-bama and his spinmeisters will do an immediate smear job on the judge. Let me know if I am wrong.

A L-E letter writer asks why the delays in getting Carver High School teachers' belongings/materials moved from Carver to its temporary home at Baker Middle School. She writes, "Dr. Susan Andrews might want to get out of her nice posh office and visit around to see what in the world is happening in her district’s own backyard." -- What the writer doesn't grasp is that Dr Andrews still lives in Harris County and she doesn't drive by Carver on her way home from work even though it's only a few blocks away from her MCSD Taj Mahal office.
---Dusty, Dusty, Dusty..... it's way past time to replace (or at least clean) your rose colored glasses. The MCSD can 'earn' millions of dollars over the years just by making teachers living outside of Muscogee County pay the out-of county tuition other GA and AL parents have to pay to send their children to MCSD schools, but that is not the point of this response to his 'editorial'. Dusty writes about the 'Hollywood offer' by saying "Given the Hollywood context, we can perhaps be forgiven an easy allusion: Show us the money. ". Dusty, the guy ain't suggesting he's willing to invest with his money; he wants to do it on "OUR" money!

From the 'it's not one world' department - L-E story: "Judicial officials say a Saudi court has convicted four women and 11 men for mingling at a party and sentenced them to flogging and prison terms. The men, who are between 30 and 40 years old, and three of the women, who are under the age of 30, were sentenced to an unspecified number of lashes and one or two year prison terms each. The fourth woman, a minor, was sentenced to 80 lashes and was not sent to prison. Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam that prohibits unrelated men and women from mingling." -- Wonder if this means "e-Harmony" can't operate in the mid-east?

What's happening at CSU? Last week I got a letter thanking me for my past support, and asking I let them know if I was going to support them again this year. Last night, I received a phone call (probably from a student reading a script) saying I had been sent that letter, and I need to let CSU know whether I was going to send a check this year. Excuse me? CSU needs nothing of the sort! I told the young woman (and am sending this to Dr Mescon, too) my family has supported CJC/CC/CSU continuously since 1949 (yes, 10 years before it became a reality), but fueled by this letter/phone call and the turmoil of this past Spring, my future support will hinge on some renewed discussion on what's going on out there.
