Online headline: "Friar Suggests Teens Seduce Priests In A Lot Of Sex Abuse Cases" -- Drum this .... I don't know what you should call him because undeserving of being call a MAN.... but this mentality fits right in with the blatant pedophile or rapist who claims "she asked for it/she wanted me".

Marco Rubio gave his testimony of success last night. It was inspirational. Had he done this speech at the DIM&DUMBERAT Convention, he would have been booed by delegates and mainstream media alike.
---

HuffPost headline: "Eastwood Misfires" -- "misfires"? Clint may have been a little rusty with his lines, a slow slow on the draw, but there was nothing wrong with his shooting eye or his deadly accuracy.

Dirty Harry blew Dingy Harry out of the water.
---

The reason King Arpege has muffled VP Biden for telling a predominantly black audience that Republicans want to put them back in chains is that King Arpege wants EVERY American shackled by taxes.

I-185 bridge over Macon Road.. Tons of money was spent over about 18 months fixing and finishing off the bridge repair. Now, the new landscaping has been torn up to re-repair the bridge. Why wasn't the first repair checked for correctness before the contractor left the site?

The new library building can best be described as awkward, and the Taj Mahal would be attractive with a windows makeover and better location, but the Natatorium makes the entire complex look like it was designed by the same committee charged with creating a horse that ended up being a camel.

Looking at all the construction going on in our public sector alone, you'd think our unemployed worker figures would be the best in the state.
---

A lower court has sided with King Arpege and Eric Holder that the Texas law makes it too hard for poor people to get IDs to vote. Well, if King Arpege and Eric Holder would initiate a program to provide ID citizenship status for everyone receiving federal/state entitlements, taxpayers would be better served, and fraud, both entitlement AND voter, would be curtailed.

---

Somewhere there is a liberal editor figuring out a headline to blame Isaac on Bush43

---

Latest from barackobama.com: "If we win this election, it will be because of what you did in moments like this to help close the spending gap." -- If King Arpege had closed the government spending gap, he wouldn't be worried about re-election.

McClatchy online headline/story: "Obama immigration policy brings spike in criminal record searches * Tarrant County Texas has seen a dramatic spike in the number of requests for criminal record searches from Dream Act hopefuls seeking to gain U.S. citizenship.

This not something I usually do, but this link goes to last weeks McClatchy editorial cartoons for last week. There are 16 of them, and everyone is negatively aimed at the GOP...pathetic!

Eric Folsom, a father from a neighboring town, told the Enterprise of Hanson that it could put him in a tough spot when he passes by with his 6-year-old daughter. * “If she saw that, she’d say ‘Why is that little girl doing that? What does that mean?’” he said. “How do I explain that?” -- What Eric Folsom means is that he can't explain why he voted for King Arpege in 2008 and has an Obama bumpersticker on his car.

WTVM9 news story: "Motorists encouraged to avoid Benning Road’s “Stone Gate” * FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - * Motorists are advised to avoid the area outside Fort Benning's "Stone Gate" on Benning Road between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on August 31. * The U.S./Mexico Caravan for Peace has planned a stop at the Stone Gate on Friday, one of 22 on a 6,000-mile caravan that will end in Washington, D.C. * Organizers of the vigil are expecting more than 100 supporters to participate. * The gate will not be closed, but heavy foot traffic and parked vehicles may cause congestion on Benning Road." -- Excuse me, but I'm sure the mamas of the 100 taught them how to cross a busy street... look both ways, and when traffic is clear, walk across at a fast pace. Either that or find a safer intersection to cross at, but we're talking major highways, and non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians are usually prohibited by law...enforce the law!
---
L-E headline: "U.S. Aarmy Corps of Engineers * Corps' plan will landlock city" -- Oh, no! Does that mean the Chamber cannot continue using "Columbus, the West Coast of Georgia" as a slogan?
---
L-E's "Today in history": "On this date: In 1935, President Franklin D Roosevelt signed an act prohibiting the export of U.S. arms to belligerents." -- Sounds like the DIM&DUMBERat icon was 'for' profiling, and would be against shipping guns to Mexican drug lords. Guess King Arpege will have to rethink comparing him self to FDR as well.\
---
L-R headline: "Osama bin Laden Raid * Pentagon considers taking legal action against seal author" -- The "Pentagon"? How about the Commander-in-Chief? Obviously King Arpege has not read his history books or his Afghan war status reports.. like Vietnam, it's not smart to engage in a war you cannot win in the court of public popularity.
---
L-E "Late Laughs": "President Obama is seeking to make his case with first time voters. Well, you can understand why. Second time voters have graduated and can't find a job." -- Bingo! Encouraging is that my 20 year old daughter watched the convention with us last night, and wondered how anybody couldn't like or be impressed by Romney.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't." Margaret Thatcher, British political leader (1925 - ) -- Bet King Arpege will have his spinmeisters out trashing Thatcher, too.
---
King Arpege thinks college students should take out student loans rather than borrow from their parents..... huh? King Arpege hasn't even fathomed the thought that students can work their way through school, with or without their parents support and resources, and be better prepared for the workplace and realities of hard work being a learning process. Oh yeah, and without DEBT! There's something about being proud of your hard work and effort that scares DIM&DUMBERat politicians to death.

Online headline: "Obama Declares Major Disaster In Mississippi And Louisiana" -- Whatta nobrainer! You could fill in the blanks with all of the other states just as well, starting with California, Illinois, and Michigan.

---

Online headline: "2013 Chevy Volt Production To Halt For 4 Weeks From Mid-September" -- Well well, either, like King Arpege, the Volt has run out of gas or has come to the end of it's power line, or King Arpege will declare he has created 1,300 new jobs when the union labor goes back to work in October.

---

Eric Holder should be re-assigned from the DOJ to Ambassador to Mexico. Bet he'd remember who he sent AK-47s to and get them back.

---

Latest from barackobama.com: "Today, there are millions of families like ours who won't have to suffer through needless heartache over situations beyond their control.
* If the President loses, Republicans are guaranteeing those protections will be gone with him." -- That's EXACTLY the point responsible Americans are making! Millions who believe in our Constitution want their country back from the millions who have become addicted to abusing it.

Ask your Councilperson if alcohol is allowed to be served/consumed at Flat Rock Park?

More 'Latest from barackobama.com':
"Take a deep breath and savor this -- because it's one of the final deadline emails you'll see from me." -- And, hopefully, we've seen the last of King Arpege's 'executive orders'.
---
We will learn more about King Arpege by the names he puts on his "presidential pardons" list shortly before he leaves office.
---
L-E story: "At the Jim Blanchard conference Tuesday, the mayor did issue a more specific plea for action. “Log on to your local media and (post) one comment a day,” she said. “That’s all I’m asking, one comment a day, say something intelligent, say something that gives somebody a sign that there are leaders here in Columbus, Ga., ready, willing and able to work with those who want to come here, move here and invest. You have a duty to speak out. Be heard.” -- Wonder what screen name Mayor Obamalinson uses? Either way, if she is posting daily, obviously her comments blend in with the other DIM&DUMBERat wackos.
---
It still bugs me that local taxpayers are being abuse by Council giving money to the Literacy Alliance. Since the MCSD is not doing its job, maybe the City should take away the tax exempt status on all school properties. That way, at least the school system would be providing the tax revenue used to give away to a private organization to teach people to read and write.
---
L-E headline: "Pam Brown supporting LaJoye in sheriff's race * LaJoye may consider Brown for chief deputy if elected" -- What strange bedfellows doth politics and scorn make... it will be interesting to see if more than a few voters in South Columbus will vote for any candidate with Republican beside his name.
---
Oblivious liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Is anyone dumb enough to believe Obama 'stole $700 billion' from Medicare? This would require congressional approval, and the present Congress wouldn't give Obama 70 cents." -- Obviously, this liberal is still on a 'kool-aid high'. Congress was a combination of a Super-majority DIM&DUMBERat the first two years of King Arpege's rule, and didn't bother reading anything they passed.
---
Romney could sure win over voters confidence by coming out with a commitment to forgo his salary as President, and offer to pay his and his family's way when they vacation. He might add that the family dog will travel in Air Force 1 with the rest of the family, and not in another jet by himself.
---
That revitalization of the Harris County football/track complex sure looks nice, but with the huge water tank/tower at the end, and since it was a government developed project, you can't but wonder whether a sprinkler system was included in the new synthetic grass surface.
---
Wonder if the same pundits that claimed President Bush steered Katrina into New Orleans will be claiming King Arpege steered Isaac away from NO?
---
The fact that college students applaud when King Arpege tells them he's trying to make it easier for them to get student loans so they can keep union teachers employed, and them having huge debts but no job opportunities when they graduate. This just accents, no highlights how ill-prepared student are when they graduate from high schools.

I really missed an item in Tuesday's L-E. The L-E's "Thought for Today" was , "Whom the gods would make bigots, they first deprive of humor.", The Reverend James E. Gillis, Roman Catholic author. Editor, and broadcaster (1876-1957) -- What a perfect explanation of why political correctness is a sign of bigotry! Without political correctness we could all laugh at ourselves as well.

---

Out of curiosity, why doesn't the DOJ require photo ID's for everyone receiving government entitlement aid? There could be provision for emergency and/or first time applicants.

---

There was a terrible photo in the Tuesday L-E affiliated with the Leadership Forum. Though the Forum was held at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center, the photo centered in on a Cunningham Center/CSU sign, and had President Bush minimized in the bottom right corner. The event was focused on the leaders invited to speak, and a former president should certainly not be presented as a 'minimized' guest of Columbus/CSU/Leadership Conference; featured guests should always be the center of focus.

---

Online headline: "Heavy Pot Use Tied to IQ Drop" -- No wonder it's DIM&DUMBERats that fight for legalization of marijuana.

---

The families of the Aurora, Colorado theater massacre have received only $5,000.00 each from a foundation created to assist them. The foundation has raised $5,000,000.00+ at this time. Knowing the restrictions of 501 (c) 3 foundations, I'm not sure the foundation can give any money directly to any individual, so I wonder not at why the families have been given only $5,000.00 each, but in how the foundation can do so legally...

---

Passed on by a friend: ""If we want to keep our nation's secrets a 'SECRET' then we should store them where President Obama stores his college transcripts and birth certificate."

---

King Arpege says Americans pull together in times of duress. Isn't that what he promised he could do if elected? How come he hadn't thought that again until now when he's under duress?

---

Wonder where King Arpege will be campaigning/golfing today since we know it won't be in New Orleans?

---

Another thought: I've got to wonder why King Arpege just doesn't go to New Orleans, walk out on the Gulf, spread his arms, calm the waters, and dispel the storm. Isn't that the image he claims?

---

I signed up for barackobama.com's daily e-mail updates a year or so ago. I wanted to know what was going on in the minds of King Arpege and his campaign staff. The truth, as he sees it, may keep true DIM&DUMBERats hooked for the long run, but I can't imagine that there are any true independents who haven't changed their minds about him since 2008.

---

Buddy Helton has seen my last visit. Anyone who seems so happy, so eager, to raise the price of gas in the ground by .20 cents based on knowing his next shipment will be .20 higher is not my friend.

---

Congrats Phenix City for the clean sweep of Council (well almost... every Sumbry is a Sumbry). Columbus voters take note that it can be done.

---

In Florida, a man bought a storage locker at auction, and found human organs stored in it. Wonder when we will see this on one of the reality TV shows?

---

The French opened up a murder inquiry on Yasser Arafat on Tuesday. If they are trying to snag a reality TV show spot, maybe they should open up an inquiry Americans might be interested in, say Mary Jo Kopechne or Vince Foster.

---

Racist/bigoted liberal L-E "soundoff": "The "illegal immigrants" won't take Americamn jobs. They'll be picking our produce that's rotting in the fields, causing our grocery bills to climb. No American will toil all day in the hot sun picking tomatoes." -- Why is it that liberals feel so comfortable and sanctimonious at labeling/profiling people, especially minorities?

---

Why should any state allow out-of-state, even out-of-town students to be allowed to register to vote? While it doesn't matter as much on the national election, the swell of college students voting in local elections could overwhelm local needs.\

---

Why is Council awarding $106K to the Literary Alliance to provide mentoring and and instruction to increase lieracy rates in Columbus? Why doesn't the Council just sue the MCSD to make good on its promise a good education?

L-E headline: "Obama boosts fuel efficiency to 54.5 mpg by 2025" -- Well, he's certainly tried to produce enough hot air to provide the enough fuel that it might be plausible.

In an online story: Chris Matthews lost it while 'interviewing' RNC Chairman Reince Priebus on Monday's "Morning Joe". Matthews' leg was 'tingling' again as he accused Romney of 'playing the race card'. * "I'm not going to get into a shouting match with Chris so you guys can move on," Priebus said. "Because you're losing, that's why," Matthews said. "Garbage, garbage," Priebus muttered. * "It's your garbage," Matthews fired back. * UPDATE: Priebus weighed in on the confrontation on Sean Hannity's radio show Monday afternoon, saying that it was typical for Chris Matthews to "play the role of being the biggest jerk in the room." -- Hmmm, what Priebus doesn't understand about Matthews is that Matthews isn't 'playing' when he's a jerk.

---

Online headline: "The Most (and Least) Honest Cities in the U. S." -- Oooops, my bad. Thought this was another list that would infuriate Mayor Obamalinson.

---

Online story: "JERUSALEM -- Israel Military Industries says it has developed a unique grenade that doesn't explode when hit by shrapnel, bullets or even if exposed to fire. * Moshe Elert, a senior official with the state-owned defense company, said Monday the new mechanism could save soldiers' lives. He would not elaborate on how it works. * He said it was developed after two soldiers were killed in 2010 when a grenade one was carrying was hit by a bullet and exploded. * Elert says there have been many similar cases around the world, and the new technology is being sold to other friendly armies. * He says Israel began using the new grenades in recent months." -- For our soldiers' sake, I do hope Israel has looked beyond King Arpege and considers the US as a 'friendly army'.

HP is getting clobbered by the pundits... and it's well deserved. I wrote them off this Spring after my latest laptop purchase harddrive died at 9 months, and HP wouldn't honor its 12 month warranty, but before that, the last two inkjet printers I bought had too many features stripped from them. HP promised to send me a 'fix' for the software, but after 4 reminder e-mails and many empty promises, I just decided I will not buy any more HP products.

The pundits and talking heads are talking about how badly we're being outraised by the other side. You've heard it from us, too. * The pundits are saying this is how we could lose the election. 7 years ago, Katrina bore down on New Orleans, and a deer-in-the-headlights DIM&DUMBERat Mayor and Governor, but it was POTUS Bush43 who got ripped waiting on the call from the Louisiana governor. It took 2+ months for King Arpege to get involved with the BP oil fiasco; what will we find out about King Arpege and this potential chaos (and with no Rahm Emanuel by his side to take advantage of it).

Outside World is having a sale on Demos this week. Makes sense... the Republican's are having a convention this week, so a small business is bailing out on Demos in support.

L-E headline: "Parents urged to circumcise new borns". Drs. also think insurance companies should pay for it" -- To be or not to be...that is the question...NOT! The question is how much the Drs. can charge for putting a plastic cap on and letting nature take its course?

Though I doubt it was the intent of the L-E, the L-E brought up an important point today. In its "Looking back" column, it mentioned that "Russell County's white teachers will assemble at the school in Seale at 8:30 a.m. (CST)". Whether the L-E wants to admit it or not, 'we've come a long way, baby'.

Online headline/story: "Chicago Shootings: Garry McCarthy Defends Police Strategies As Weekend Gun Violence Continues * As of early Saturday, Chicago had seen 46 homicides in August and 351 homicides so far this year, according to the RedEye's homicide tracker. As of the end of July, homicides this year at up about 27 percent over 2011 and that year-over-year surge is expected to increase once August numbers are in. * Gun violence in Chicago was the subject of a recent segment on HuffPost Live, which featured a panel of activists and journalists including Father Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Church weighing in on what has been a violent summer in the Windy City." -- You would 'think' that with King Arpege as president, his former right hand man, Rahm Emanuel, as Mayor, and his spiritual guru, Father Michael Pfleger, Chicago would be the model city for Utopia. You would think that, but 'what it is' is basically a DIM&DUMBERat 'get the vote out' drive-by registration rally.

XpotUS Clinton is out telling us that King Arpege has a plan to build us up but only after he tears US down to the ground to start over. King Arpege has been a failure at doing the easy part; what makes Clinton 'feel' he's going to be good at the hard part of his equation for success. Obviously, King Arpege and Clinton were brought up during the public schools' 'new math' era where nothing truly added up.

Liberals L-E "soundoff": "Why does the United States, $15 trillion in debt, spend half a trillion dollars a years (sic) for the military to be the world's policeman? -- To begin with, the US is not $15 (closer to $16) trillion in debt because of what we spend on the military to preserve our freedom and safety. Even among the periodic situations of military supplier abuse and occasional uniformed megalomaniacs, the military is responsible for itself and makes the corrections. Thank God for our Constitution and our military!
---
Super liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Teaching your children to stand their ground may not always be a good decision." -- Sounds like someone who lets government teach his/her children morals; the decision and importance of standing one's ground, or not as the occasion dictates, is a job for each child's parents to instill.
---
Speaking of standing one's ground, who can understand why liberals stand their ground on the rights of a homosexual/lesbian/transgender, yet not on the rights of an unborn child?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": "Doing what's right isn't the problem. It is knowing what's right." - Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States (1908-1973)" -- Unfortunately, LBJ, typical DIM&DUMBERat politician, had no clue about what 'right' entails; they are all bent to far 'left'.
---
L-E "headlie": "Emory University * Misreporting stems from desire to get top students" -- Is there no shame in the education system? Online story: "New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said all nine bystanders wounded in Friday's Empire State Building shooting had been hit with police gunfire, CNN reported Saturday morning. * According to Kelly, of the nine wounded, three suffered gunshot wounds and six were hit by fragments. I am constantly amazed at the focus of King Arpege's campaign strategy... it's like he's running against himself to defeat and replace himself.

Oh! We had a sleepover at our house last night. Soprecious, a.k.a. Sophia Grace, spent her first night with us!

Don't you know the L-E is furious at having to put President Bush coming to town in a favorable manner?
---
It's more than baffling why the L-E does not identify "frequent" columnist Karl Douglass as a staff member of the Sanford Bishop re-election team? Actually, Bishop would probably benefit if people thought Karl's words reflected Bishop's positions.
---
The grants coming in front of Council from the Public Safety LOST revenue to fund projects of the Public Safety Commission all need more scrutiny, but one in particular needs to be examined under a microscope... $72,311 is earmarked for the Junior Marshal's Program that was exposed as snakepit of greed and crime as a good portion of the original grant made by Congressman Bishop's efforts went to paying salaries to Vivian Bishop's daughter and son-in-law though they lived in Atlanta. Adding even more insult to the injury, Mrs Bishop's son-in-law's salary checks were direct deposited into HER account. If anybody needs to submit several years of tax returns, it's both Bishops.
While we are at it, lets not forget that many reserved Congressional scholarship dollars were directed by Congressman Bishop to his staff and family members which was a major 'no-no'.
---
One thing that needs to be exposed before any grant is made by the Public Safety Commission is how much in administrative salary is paid to the recipients. Grants made by the Public Safety Commission should be with the stipulation that no money can be used for salaries of the executive officers.

One former member of the BC and the legal profession has expressed his displeasure at my position about the cases being sent back to court for "ineffective counsel". I actually deplore the situation because no lawyer needs to be humiliated for defending a habitual criminal as best he/she can with the circumstances the defendant created. Even the best defense is going to lose most of those cases, and in cases won on technicalities, the community loses as well.
---
With so many, too many, 'overturns of cases based on "ineffective counsel", it seems the GA Supreme Court wants criminals back on the street rather than in jail. I know jails are expensive, but it's less costly than putting habitual criminals back out on the streets.

County's Midnight Run... a fantastic community event for so many has become a gathering place for underaged drinkers to amass. The police, whether off-duty or not, need to control this situation.

Friday, August 24, 2012

Yesterday morning around 7:40, as I was taking my daughter to school, I witnessed what could have been, and eventually will become, a tragic accident. With traffic zooming bumper-to-bumper at 65 MPH on the J R Allen Parkway heading east, a MCSD bus tried to enter traffic from the clover leaf ramp at Bradley Park Dr. There was no where for the bus to merge into traffic, so it literally had to stop on the access path and wait for traffic to open up, which meant it had to enter the J R Allen Raceway from a complete standing stop. At the same time, the bus had traffic blocked behind it and was blocking the exit ramp for those wanting to get off J R Allen on to Bradley Park. The DOT needs to get a move on redesigning this setup (and every other one on J R Allen), but until then, the MCSD should find another route for the bus(es) that use this entry.

Where is the compassion when a politician addresses the families of victims of a mass shooting and rails on about more gun control? Don't you think those victims' families wish their lost loved one could have had his/her own gun to shoot the sicko before he caused so much tragedy?

Latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- It's August 23rd. We do 'hope' so.

Michelle Obama has an ad out encouraging voters to get out on November 2 to vote... Say, huh? That's a Friday before the actual Tuesday voting date. If a Republican had run an ad saying that, the Republican would have been charged with election fraud for trying to dilute the vote on the actual election date.
---
HuffPost headline: "Bill Clinton Stars In New Obama Ad: 'This Is A Clear Choice'-- Yeah, it's clearly one written in black and white. What fronts will the DIM&DUMBERats avoid offending? They've created right-to-work, racial, gender, sexual, and class divisions as no other campaign has ever come close to doing. Even worse, the DIM&DUMBERats are creating this state of division within their own party ranks. Just look at the primaries.

Passed on by a fellow BCer - From the "what if" department:

Now, what if Mitt Romney had a "Whites for Romney" donation site and political merchandise? It's easy to see the bigot in this race, it's right in front of you in black and white.

Hypocrisy is with us many way, but none so blatant as at CSU Riverfront Campus. On a non-smoking campus, he "Den", the food/snack/student meet area sells cigarettes from a closed cabinet. The 'Den' sells food in some of the least environmentally friendly Styrofoam containers. And as to recycling, not a collecting station in sight. I guess CSU is providing some educational value, but not in the citizenship category.

L-E movie review: "2016: Obama's America": If there is a tragic aspect of the film, it's that the only people likely to see it are those who have already made up their minds against Barack Obama." Kyle Wingfield, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution" -- The movie opened to record (for genre) viewers in its limited opening cycle but the number of screens showing it will escalate by 10-to-15 fold this weekend. Will I see it? Probably not.. I've seen enough of King Arpege (and every other DIM&DUMBERat politician who will ever run), but the author is wrong that only those who have made up their mind will see it. Inquiring people are clamoring for a different view from the mainstream media propaganda message.
---
I usually don't involve myself with the goings on across the river, but the recent dropout of one candidate who then endorsed a competitor who is also his son goes beyond my ability to ignore this as a normal political happening. In a way, hadn't the son already 'dissed' the father by running against him versus supporting him?
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." Confucius, Chinese philosopher (551-479 B.C.)" -- Dang... were there DIM&DUMBERats 2500 years ago? This must be the advice social workers give to those on entitlement programs... to consider receiving government aid as a job.
---
Go Glenn Davis! Hadn't seen this much testosterone since his days as a Columbus Astro working to make 'the show'. And he's right, the City Manager definitely shouldn't be using City resources to celebrate a job promotion for one person and not every one else who gets a promotion, BUT where is the prudence of spending tax dollars on frivolity rather than functionality?
---
I'm curious as to how the Fed can additionally help the economy... once the Fed interest rate hits zero, is the Fed going to start paying 1 or 2% interest for businesses to TAKE a loan?

Online story: "The Obama administration paid a PR firm nearly $500,000 in stimulus funds to run a barrage of ads on White House-friendly cable programs promoting its green job training program. * According to government records, the Labor Department paid the money in late 2009 to a company that negotiated a media buy on MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" and "The Rachel Maddow Show." The ad was set to run more than 100 times -- 14 times a week for two months * It's unclear how many people might have gotten involved in the green job training program because of the ads. But in terms of direct economic impact, the official online entry on the contract listed zero jobs created as a result of the payment." -- A few things here are abundantly clear: GE is the major partner of MSNBC, GE's boss, Jeffrey Immelt was King Arpege's chief economic advisor, and it took Fox News to uncover and bring this to light. Hurry November!

Rosie O'Donnell had a "mild"heart attack. Yesterday it was reported that Donald Trump sent her 'tweet' for a quick recovery. Wonder what he'll do today, send a donation to "Save the Whales" in her honor/memory?

---

Latest from barackobama.com: "President Obama believes a skilled workforce is critical to keeping America competitive and creating an economy built to last -- and in order to make that happen, he's helping millions of students pay for college." -- Let's get this straight...King Arpege has made college loans easier to get for 18-22 years olds so that they exit 'college' with a huge debt but no jobs because King Arpege hasn't created any jobs for new graduates. What a ponzi scheme for hiring more and more union 'college' teachers.

---

Latest from barackobama.com: "In 2008, I had a life-changing experience. I rejoiced with my fellow Americans as we watched then-Senator Barack Obama accept our nomination for President of the United States. The energy was electrifying and moving. * You can experience the same thing at the 2012 convention in Charlotte. Sign up now to get your free credential for the convention, and join me in watching President Obama deliver his acceptance speech -- the one that will kick of the last leg of this urgent campaign -- in person. - Ashley Judd" -- Will someone please tell Ashley I will not be in the audience there or in movie theaters watching her in movies.

---

Speaking of Hollywooders, I think all of the A-list Hollywood cult should have to reveal 10 years of tax returns before endorsing/promoting a presidential candidate. During Clinton's term, a special tax provision was given entertainers/sports figures tax breaks by spreading out large one year salaries over many years in the future.

---

What a marvelous L-E story involving Capt. Brian Brennan and Gen. David Petraeus. Hope a lot of atheist/agnostics read it.

---

When King Arpege belittled business owners about not having earned their position in life by their own efforts, I think he was just repeating the daily comments he gets from his wife.

---

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "I voted against the T-SPLOST. I am a Democrat. Most of the people who voted against the T-SPLOST are Democrats. Republicans are the ones who passed this. Get your facts right." -- I'm glad to hear that South Columbus has become a Republican/Conservative stronghold. Of course, this will not bold well for King Arpege in November if this Democrat is correct in his fact findings.

---

Another liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Republican methods cannot get us out of this. They believe in high entitlements and lower taxes on the wealthy. If they paid their fair share, we would not be in this mess." -- Truth is that if everyone who could, worked and paid their share of fair taxes, the DIM&DUMBERat Party would be irrelevant politically. As it is, 47% of 'taxpayers' pay none or actually receive income allowances from the government, and 100% of those think the others don't pay enough. Where's 'fair' fit in this formula?

---

L-E's "Thought for today": "A wise man without a book is like a workman with no tools." - Moroccan proverb" -- Hmmm, this must be the driving inspiration for the MCSD to never have enough books.

---

L-E story: "Memphis, TENN - Chavis Carter's family hasn't accepted the official explanation for his death: that he was on meth when he fatally shot himself while his hands were cuffed behind him in the backseat of a patrol car in Arkansas. * The family portrays the 21-year-old as abright, young man who aspired to be a veterinarian, liked shopping for sneakers and playing basketball." -- Excuse me, but I find nothing connecting bright and aspiring about someone who uses meth. Making an issue of his death more important than the circumstances that preceded it just diverts the reality. This has been the result of political correctness in strangling true advancements between races.

---

L-E headline: "First lady announces new hiring push for vets" -- Oh, like she can create meaningful jobs? Maybe the wrong Obama was elected.

---

Congrats to our new Chief Judge! We know he's well informed on what's going on in Columbus and the world q;-)

---

L-E story: "In it's annual summertime report, the budget office said Wednesday that letting the decade-old tax cuts expire and sweeping spending cuts occur in January - which will happen without Congressional action -- "would lead to economic conditions in 2013 that will be prbably be considered a recession." * If that happened, the economy would contract 0.5 percent... (and) unemployment would rise to around 9 percent... (and) cost about 2 million jobs" -- Now who's for full retention of the tax cuts... The Republican controlled House, and who's against the renewal, the D&D controlled Senate and King Arpege. What's so difficult about making the obvious choice to preserve this country for our children and grandchildren?

Online story: "If "Today" wants an interview with Angelina Jolie, the current co-hosts are going to have to step aside. The actress will only sit down with Ann Curry, according to a report published Tuesday. * Radar reported that Jolie reached out to Curry shortly after she was ousted from the morning show, and "made it clear" that she and Brad Pitt would not give interviews to anyone else at NBC News." -- What arrogance! Like what words/thoughts would "Brangelina" offer the world that the world even cares about? Just Hollywood run more amok.

---

Online story: "An Obama campaign announcement on Tuesday said Biden will be attending events in Florida on Monday and Tuesday, including a stop in Tampa on the convention's opening day. * Campaigning in Minneapolis, Biden talked about his upcoming trip to Tampa with reporters. * "Any of you going to Florida?" he asked the reporters. "I'm going to be the speaker at the convention." -- Yeah, of course one of the reporters probably asked him what he was going to do after the November elections, and Biden was thinking about "DisneyWorld".

---

Online headline: "Possible Disaster Looming for GOP Convention Next Week?" -- Ooops, my bad. It was on HuffPost, and I guess the HP is counting on Hurricane Biden to disrupt the GOP.

---

Online headline: "Sandra Fluke To Speak At Democratic National Convention" -- Yeah, she's probably in charge of distributing condoms to cover the party platform 'planks'.

---

Instant headline repeat: "Sandra Fluke To Speak At Democratic National Convention" -- King Arpege wants her close enough to Biden to slap a condom over Biden's head if he tries to open his mouth.

---

Online story: "President Barack Obama dismissed attacks on him and his administration for taking too much credit for killing Osama bin Laden, knocking one group's founding member for being a birther conspiracy theorist. * "I don't take these folks too seriously," Obama told The Virginian-Pilot. "One of their members is a birther who denies I was born here, despite evidence to the contrary." -- "evidence to the contrary"? Isn't that 'legalese' used when you really can't say 'proof'?

---

Hmmm, another week, another body pulled out of the Chattahoochee..must be something in the (white)water.

---

WRBL3 News headline/story: "Fire officials say Chattahoochee River is still safe * "The river's not dangerous. The river is unpredictable,” said River Warden Roger Martin. * When it comes to the whitewater project Martin said many safety regulations will be in place, like an alarm that sounds when flows are increasing." -- "an alarm that sounds when flows are increasing"? Not on the envoronmental whackos' watch! Just wait until those hear that alarms will be going off during turtle and lizard mating seasons!

---

From same story: "Whitewater organizers said when the project is finished people will be escorted into the water by people experienced with swift waters." -- You, no they've got to be kidding... 'escorted'? Will they be 'escorted' out, too? Doesn't sound like 'the whitewater organizers' are planning for the Chattahoochee to run (or be) free.

---

Online headline: "Democrats Are From Starbucks, Republicans Are From Visa" -- Well, now we know why coffee is so high... the DIM&DUMBERats have their hand in it.

---

Latest from barackobama.com: "If we win this election, it will be because of what you did." -- Well, well, well... an honest approach from King Arpege, but he still doesn't get it. He will not win if he's thinking I am working for him.
---
King Arpege's money man, George Soros, has bought a 7+% share of the Manchester United soccer team. Guess he'll need an outlet to kick some balls after he takes a kicking in November.
---
From the "I wish this could only happen in California" department - Online story: "A young man (Daniel Larson) who has spent 13 years in prison was declared innocent by a federal judge two years ago. And yet, he's still incarcerated. * In 2010, a federal judge overturned the conviction and said that the California man's constitutional rights had been violated because his attorney was incompetent. * Larsen still has not been released because the California Attorney General's office appealed the federal judge's ruling based on the technicality that his lawyers missed the deadline for filing a writ of habeas corpus." -- And, in GA, we are getting shafted by convictions being overturned on an "inefficient counsel" basi!. Before any convicted prisoner should be released on this basis, the lawyer in question should be brought before a public panel, stripped of his legal licenses, and made to repay the public (if court appointed), or the convict if the convict hired him. While I'm on my soapbox, appeals court judges should be removed from the bench if they overturn a lower court decision which the US Supreme Court in turn over rules the appeal court judges! Yeah!
---
I'm sitting at a stop light, being 'entertained' by the rolling boom box next to me. Car radios should have a switch that cuts them off unless the AC is working and the windows are up.

L-E headline/story: "FBI: Midland couple took company for $2 million * Fed say William Frazier used company credit cards for sculptures, casino chips and jewelry * The Fraziers pleaded not guilty before fedral Magistrate Stephen Hyles during their Tuesday afternoon arraignment. * Each was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. William Mason Heather Frazier's court-appointed attorney....." -- "unsecured bond"? "court-appointed attorney"? First, how many taxpayer paid clients should 1 attorney be able to represent at one time? Aside from knowing a company which doesn't catch an employee who's bilked $2 million from them in a short amount of time, and knowing the company obviously had too much taxpayer funds running through its accounting department so the fraud was not obvious is unsettling, but to let the 'bilkers' out on any amount of unsecured bond and give either one a court-appointed attorney is just wrong!
---
L-E headline: "ACT scores show signs of small progress" -- I guess this means colleges will know whether students are ready to be admitted into Remedial Studies 101.
---
L-E headline: Americans tune out Afghan war * As war rages on, fighting barely generates whisper on campaign trail" -- Yeah, like King Arpege wants to campaign on his success there, and like the mainstream media is going to give the front page to a war story when it can report on some inane concept that we should be more concerned with what Romney does with HIS OWN money more than with what King Arpege does with OUR money.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was nhere first," - Mark Twain (1835-1910) -- Oooo.. another saying that will never grace the wall of a DIM&DUMBERat politician.

Online story: "President Barack Obama's new immigration program will mean some undocumented immigrants will be granted driver's licenses -- and some will not, depending on where they live. * The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) told reporters Friday that it will grant driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants who get an “employment authorization document" under Obama's program. " -- Gird your loins! Getting a drivers' license has become the easiest way to get registered to vote. The GA DIM&DUMBERats tried to get this passed in GA several years ago which would have changed the GA forever with its 'motor-voter' law.
---
Online story: "NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- A journalist (Fareed Zakaria, discussed last week in the BC) recently accused of plagiarism has resigned from his position on Yale University's governing board to better focus on his work." -- I'm surprised, but it looks like Yale may have a few standards left that CNN and Time Magazine have abandoned.
---
HuffPost headline/story: "Kerry Gauthier, Minnesota Rep., Urged To Step Down After Admitting Liaison With 17-Year-Old Boy * A Minnesota state lawmaker who authorities say admitted having a liaison with a 17-year-old boy at a rest stop faced calls from party leaders Monday to give up his re-election bid. " -- Lead sentence of PARAGRAPH 4: "The scandal has hurt Democrats' hopes of retaking at least one chamber of the Legislature.": -- If he had been a Republican, his GOP link would have led off the headline and 1st paragraph.
---
Online headline: "Obama On Romney Welfare Accusations: 'You Can't Just Make Stuff Up'" -- BINGO! Reality seems strange even to King Arpege! If King Arpege campaigned on his own job merits, even King Arpege wouldn't vote for himself.
---
Last night, I changed my vote in the Municipal Judge race today. I was going to vote for Smith again, but an ad came on with him being endorsed by Viv Bishop and Greg Countryman asking us not to break up their team. This sounds like a nightmare!!!
---
From the "Mel Allen, 'How about that.' Department: Going through the change I got back today, I came across a quarter with the Wisconsin design. I looked to see if it had the extra leaf on the corn when something jumped out at me I hadn't noticed before. The Wisconsin motto is "Forward". King Arpege stole his election slogan from the state that a Republican Governor whipped the union thugs TWICE! How about that!
---
HuffPost story: "Romney, a former private equity executive who is one of the richest men ever to run for president, has come under pressure for months from the Obama campaign to release more years of tax returns." -- Hmmmm, one of the richest men ever to run for president"... I guess the HuffPost is inferring people who got rich BEFORE they got in to politics aren't to be trusted as those who became rich while sitting in or following their terms. Amazing how oblivious the HuffPost is about other rich men running, such as the Roosevelts, Washington, Kennedy, Perot, Trump, Kerry/Heinz, and Gore. To tell the truth, I'd rather deal with a candidate who made it before he got into politics rather than those who have used the post for their own gain.
---
King Arpege has recreated one of his STIM-u-lie programs to raise campaign funds... "Cash for Clunkers, Too'
---
The latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- We've run a lot of contests on this campaign, but you should pay special attention to this one. * Here are three reasons why: The winner gets to go to the Democratic National Convention, meet the President, AND spend time with the First Lady. - Joe Biden" -- Hmmm, he's going to have to come up with another reason....say one that interests me... to get me to go.
---
Wonder if the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters have ever thought about what would happen if they got their wish, and their bankrupted parents could no longer support their lifestyles?
---
L-E story: "Boston -- States with the least religious residents are also the stingiest about giving money to charity, a new study on the generosity of Americans suggests. * The Northeast, with lower religious participation, was the least generous to charities, with the six Nrew England states filling the last six slots among the 50 states" -- Even Gomer Pyle wouldn't be 'surprised, surprised, surprised' at anything but the cost and need of such a 'study'. It also goes hand-in-hand that the New England region is so solid a DIM&DUMBERat haven.
---
The above story is more than disturbing when you consider that New England was the site the Pilgrims and other religiously persecuted Englanders resettled. Colonies were established so people could practice their religious beliefs, and now, nearly 400 years later, those colonies bring up the rear for those practicing their religions. The founding fathers must be in turmoil.
---
Can't you see it coming... the first law suit filed against the whitewater project based on the diversion of water having created new dangers in the Chattahoochee for swimmers?
---
L-E headline: "Healthy School Lunches * Lunch workers study how to get kids to eat healthy" -- DOH! Present healthy foods, especially in the manner they are cooked seems a reasonable way. If they are really hungry, they will eat what's available.
---
L-E story: "Birmingham, Ala -- A federal appeals court ruled Monday that part of Alabama's toughest-in-the-nation immigration law which ordered public schools to check the citizenship status of new students was unconstitutional." -- Damn these liberals! California is giving illegal aliens drivers' licenses, and a federal judge panel is giving illegal alien students a path to a drivers' license which gives those drivers and students a major step to getting on the voting lists as illegal aliens. Now is the time to vote against every DIM&DUMBERat at every level whenever possible,
---
L-E headline: "Historic Change at Augusta National * Home of Masters admits first female members" -- Now, what i want to know is what are their handicaps; it's certainly not because they are women.

Online headline: "Puerto Rico Voters Reject Constitutional Amendments, To Reduce Legislature Size And Limit Bail In Certain Cases" -- Well, the balloon is punctured.. we have to win in November as this option just got deflated.
---
Reverse mortgages...now the pitch guys are claiming you'll still own your home even though you're selling pieces of it off monthly.
---
After 4 years of being violated by the D&D's OB team, we definitely need 8 years of R&R.
---
With the lengths the legislature has gone to save us from ourselves by outlawing texting and other forms of driving distractions, why does it allow billboards and such to have TV screens and scrolling messaging?
---
Why is it that the hospital that prides itself for it'd children's prowess takes 5 hours to get to, examine, test, and release an in-pain infant with no clue or meds, yet the next day, the same organizations' speciality unit checks the infant's ears and immediately find puss? What a waste of healthcare dollars and people's time.
---
How long will it be before the PGA pros' attire will resemble NASCAR drivers' jumpsuits? More importantly, how soon before the pros start driving golf carts covered in decals, and finish to a checkered flag.
---
Why does "Volt" have such a comfortable yet negative connotation to DIM&DUMBERat political gatherings? Like King Arpege, George McGovern picked "Volt' to hitch his election hopes on.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Guard against the impostures of pretend patriotism." - George Washington (1732-1799) -- No wonder the DIM&DUMBERats worked so hard to eliminate Washington's Birthday as a National Holiday; because he was honest, and had them pegged for what they are!
---
Guess King Arpege will have to change his 2008 campaign song, "Change, Change, Change" this year. Now his song is "Chain, Chain, Chain".
---
After reading about the latest high school 'dropout' rate revisions, and reading that many schools 'assumed' that students transferred to another school when they didn't re-enroll just baffles me. If a student left one school for another, doesn't the other school require transcripts?

Paul Ryan has mentioned his admiration for "Rage Against the Machine" as a favorite band of his. The guitarist for the band has blasted Ryan in return. Who amongst would want an endorsement from a rock that advocates for "Occupy Wall Street and Occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue"?

Online story: "SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Puerto Rico is holding a two-part referendum on Sunday that could see the island amend its constitution for the first time in nearly half a century. * The referendum would reduce the size of the U.S. territory's government by almost 30 percent as a cost-cutting measure, and would give judges the right to deny bail in certain murder cases. Puerto Rico currently is the only place in the Western hemisphere where all suspects, including those charged with rape and murder, are entitled to bail. * The proposals would save the government money, reduce crime and protect witnesses and the relatives of victims." -- Hallelujah! We will have an optional country to go to if we don't prevail in November!
---
A Louisiana school has installed a 'palm scanner' in the lunch line 'to speed things up' as to who pays regular or reduced prices. A lot of parents are upset. I would be too, but for a different reason. Can you imagine all the germs from every student being passed on to every other student using the scanner just as they are sitting down to eat?
---
Online story: "OSLO (Reuters) - A floating robot has been deployed to track great white sharks in the Pacific as part of efforts to understand the giant predators. * The "wave glider", which from above looks like a yellow surfboard, picks up signals from tagged fish up to 1,000 feet away in the ocean and then sends their positions to researchers via a satellite transmitter." -- Typical liberal approach to a problem... why not just putting in a stronger transmitter when they are tagging the sharks so the satellites can pick up the sharks every move!
---
WRBL3 story: "Officals tell our media partner, The Ledger Enquirer that the plane had taken off from the airport when it immediately experienced engine problems. The pilot of the small craft tried to return to the airport when the aircraft crashed on its nose. * At this time, Wade's cause of the death is undetermined. His body will be sent to the GBI lab on Monday for autopsy; something Thrower says is routine when dealing with plane crashes." -- Is there anyone in media that understands that dodging the obvious is not always the way to report something? The plane had engine trouble, turned back, didn't make it to the landing strip, nosedove into the ground. Wanna bet the autopsy shows he died from crashing his plane into the ground? Bless George Wade.

Leonard "the pits" Pitts is on his high horse of indignation. The shooter at the Sikh mosque is a 'white supremist', and the Southern Poverty Law Center list of organizations that it considers 'right wing terrorists'. Funny, though, that 'the pits' doesn't mention the left-wing terrorist that shot the security guy at Family Research Center, nor did he label the "Beltway (or DC) Sniper" a black supremist. Oh, BTW, the Family Research Center is on the list of right wing terrorist organizations according to the Souther Poverty Law Center. Imagine that.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "George Washington was probably the first American millionaire. He and his wealthy friends assembled an army to fight the British because "they had the most to lose." Sounds familiar, doesn't it?" -- The sad thing is that he/she probably believes this; sadder still is that he/she was probably made to think this way in our public schools. (Remember when our school board ordered George Washington's 'watch fob' be painted over in student textbooks? Even worse was when the D&D's determined to honor all presidents instead of honoring George Washington. You have to understand that D&Ds didn't want studenys growing up associating politicians with being honest)
---
In an article today, mention was made of the whitewater course having Class 4 and Class 5 rapids. Up until this, the UPtown director has insisted the rapids whould top out at 3-3.5. I asked him specifically at a lunch meeting as he addressed a crowd of active senior women. Class 4 and Class 5 rapids are not a family outing... and there are no natural ones. There is nothing concerning restoring the Chattahoochee to it natural state going on.
---
Since the L-E doesn't want to identify Karl Douglass as an agent of Sanford Bishop, how about a switch? Publish Sanford Bishop's comments and let Karl Douglass run in his spot for Congress. Bishop would be exposed for his DIM&DUMBERat philosophy, and Douglass would be a better representative.
---
Sorry this is later than normal, but between being up late and scouring the L-E for the Columbus Council Agenda, time just move quickly. I saw the Phenix City and Harris County Councils' agenda, but not Columbus'. Did I miss it, or did the Mayor omit this week so I couldn't let y'all know what they are doing with our money?

Saturday, August 18, 2012

When you analyze all aspects of King Arpege replacing Biden with Hillary Clinton, you know King Arpege will never go along with it; too many people in the Clinton's way have ended up dead.
---
The half-truth has been described as "the blackest of all lies". Unfortunately, that's the closest King Arpege can get to the truth.

A prisoner at Gitmo has been found to have a pet. I figure that Sharia law must not have some sort of law against terrorists playing with their food.

Bill Gates has been handing out monetary awards for "the toilet of the future". Winners included solar powered, and those that process excrement into charcoal bricks (who amongst us hasn't produced some of those naturally). I guess Gates is immanently qualified to handle such matters; he certainly has provided us with enough "s___" in our business lives.

It's somewhat paradoxical that ruins of ancient civilization, such as 1000s of years old temples and pyramids, are still standing while most of our school buildings in the public sector get torn down after 60 or less years because they are no longer useable.

Online headline/story: "Sept. 11 Memorial Defends Steel Cross Display * The nonprofit group American Atheists sued the National September 11 Memorial & Museum's operators last year, saying the beam's display would be unconstitutional. * The (Museum operator's) lawyers said in papers filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Monday that the 17-foot-tall beam will be displayed as a historical object because it tells part of the story of the rescue and recovery effort after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which destroyed the twin towers and killed thousands of people." -- Let's pray that the judge will rule that atheist, since they don't believe in God, they actually have no right, no need, to object to those of us who know better.

Latest from barackobama.com: "I just got back from Iowa, where we are being outspent 2 to 1 on the air. Voters there mentioned it to me more than once. * We expect Mitt Romney and the Republicans to outspend us. * What I will not abide is getting outspent by a margin that negates all the hard work our volunteers are doing -- talking to voters, knocking on doors, making calls." -- King Arpege is at it again with one of his 'half-truths". What he really doesn't want to 'abide' by is having the truth about him shown to Iowa voters.
---
The latest from barackobama.com:
"It's easy to look at the attacks, smears, and lies being told about President Obama and his record and say, "Come on, that's ridiculous. No one could possibly believe that." - John Kerry
Not true, John Kerry... Voters can and do believe the truth once they can discern it after weeding through propaganda from the D&DNC. You didn't get "swift boated", you got a "swift kick" where you deserved it!

A Russian rock group was convicted and sentenced to jail time for "hooliganism". "Hooliganism"? I thought "hooliganism" was only a word Mark Twain made up to describe the antics of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Online story: "WASHINGTON — — President Barack Obama's fondness for a cold beer is well known. What's not as well known is that some of that beer is brewed and tapped right at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. * Obama aides confirmed the existence of a small White House brewery during a three-day re-election campaign tour across Iowa. An official acknowledged that the Obamas have their own beer made and kept in stock at the White House." -- Oh... I guess union made beer is not good enough for King Arpege. On the other hand, if he keeps pushing for adaptation of 'sharia law', he's in violation of a capital crime.

Awkward L-E headline: "Man gets life in toddler's beating death" -- Does this mean the man 'achieved life' in a sick manner? A better headline would have been, "Man sentenced to life in toddler's beating death".

L-E headline: "Unemployment rates rose in 44 states in July" -- The sad thing is that King Arpege looks at this as an opportunity to buy more votes with more unemployment benefits he can offer.
---
Ryan Lochte has filed for copywrite protection for a made up word, "jeah", which in his mind means "good". All I can say is "yeah'... 'jeah' luck with that.
---
Housing has improved? Can't tell it by the L-E... Today's "Homes&More" section is but 8 pages, while Tuesday's "Foreclosure Section" was 12 pages.
---
According to Attorney Bill Mason (BTW, Michael Curry's new lawyer - wonder if he'll try to get Curry off saying he had a "Concealed bush axe license"), it would be illegal to carry your gun from your house to your car, and from your car to a shooting range without a license. I remember when I carried a holstered weapon in clear view, and it was legal. Is this no longer possible?

Reality defines politics...Republicans extend a hand out for those in need; DIM&DUMBERats extend a handout when they need your vote.

Online story: "Fareed Zakaria is off the hook at both Time magazine and CNN after he admitted plagiarizing a New Yorker column last Friday. * Time announced Thursday that upon investigating Zakaria's columns, it has determined that the transgression was "an unintentional error" and "an isolated incident." -- Yeah...right.. Zakaria's plagiarized comments concerned gun control, and Time and CNN just happened to agree with the original author's view. I guess Time and CNN knew Zakaria 'meant well' in their eyes, so it's OK.
---
That brawl at the Little League field last month was a shame; dismissing the charges is another.
---
So Michael Curry is hiring a private lawyer to appeal his conviction based on "ineffective counsel'. Well, before his lawyer starts debasing the Public Defender's ability, the new attorney should have to prove it in a lower court that the said court appointed attorney is not competent to keep his license to practice, and Curry needs to show why he didn't pay for private representation to begin with. This revolving door welfare system for lawyers has got to stop!

Some Swedes have invented an 'invisible' bike helmet. They spent 7 years and $10,000,000.00 to bring a snap-on-inflatable-gismo that fits around your neck, and inflates when you tilt your head past a certain degree/angle. It's available now for $600.00 a pop. With my luck, I'd lean over to adjust my rat-traps and set the helmet off. Bet the first places they'll be available will be Big Lots clearance department.
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON -- A Virginia man has been charged in federal court in the shooting of a security guard at the headquarters of a conservative Christian lobbying group. * Federal authorities say Floyd Lee Corkins II told a guard at the Family Research Council, "I don't like your politics" before shooting him in the arm. The guard and others helped subdue Corkins, who was taken into custody." -- Where are the indignant, the concerned media and politicos?
---
A union spokesman at a Governors Day event in Illinois said, "we've supported these Democrats, and we demand their respect". -- Unions can't have it both ways...you cannot sell your soul then expect the buyer to respect you.
---
Online headline: Romney: "I paid taxes every single year". -- Like I've said before, Romney doesn't need to show his tax forms, but should give the media copies of all the checks he's paid to a tax entity in the last 10 years, and let the media and Harry Reid choke on the total sum of those checks.
---
Online headline: "Obama Leads Among Unlikely Voters" -- Well, if I wasn't planning to vote, I might say I'd vote for him too, BUT I am going to vote, but not for him. Of course, this poll was probably taken with the 13,000 illegal aliens lined up in Chicago hoping to get work permits and licenses so they can get registered to vote.
---
Online story: "Former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, the first member of Congress outside of Illinois to endorse President Barack Obama in 2008, will speak at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., according to an announcement from the Republican National Committee on Thursday." -- Guess there won't be a seat saved for him at the DIM&DUMBERat Convention in NC later.
---
I'm waiting for a L-E headline stating "Romney attacks Obama with F-bomb".... "Failure"
---
King Arpege responded to Romney claims his presidency has been an 'absolute failure". King Arpege took a page from the Clinton playbook, and said, "It depends on how you define "absolute" and "failure".
---
When I drive down Macon Road and see the construction going on, a parody of a song seems to come to life, " they paved paradox, and put up a parking garage".
---
After much delay and additional expense, I had thought the I-185 bridge over Macon Road had been fixed. Apparently not, they're b-a-a-c-c-c-k-k-k-k! Seems to me it would be a lot cheaper on us if the DOT would inspect contractor's work BEFORE they pack up and leave.
---
Fair play would be an ad with King Arpege describing his grandmother's paranoia while a grandmother in a wheelchair is pushed in front of a speeding bus. Well, maybe not 'fair', but more accurate.
---
The latest from barackobama.com: "Soon we're gathering for our convention in Charlotte -- and Barack and I would like to meet a few of you there. * This is a pretty amazing opportunity. The campaign will fly you and a guest to Charlotte and cover your hotel for the three nights you're there. And each night, you'll get some of the best seats in the house to watch the big speeches. * You'll meet Barack, and during his speech on Thursday night, I'd like you to sit with me. - Michelle" -- Well, I'm guessing the empty seat next to her was intended for Hillary, but she's not going.... either.
---
From the L-E:
When this project was first conceived, it was a dream to restore the Chattahoochee back to its natural state. Now it looks like its purpose will be an extension of a "Six Flags Over GA" water ride. What's 'natural' about what's going on.
---
Having George and Martha Washington's portraits hanging in the local museum will be neat. The Museum can finally put up a sign that reads, "George Washington slept here."
---
This is cool to me: Joshua Fry, my ggggg-grandfather was Washington's commanding officer in the French-Indian War. He
died in the field in 1754, and Washington took over his command.
---
After seeing the chart of the expected revenue timeline used by the MCSD board, it's easy to see why they can claim the revenues are 'only' $15 million short at his time. The projected figures are end loaded for more than 50% of the revenue to come at in the last two years. If the MCSD board does not reign itself in, there's a tsunami of debt coming in.
---
Hmmm, Richard Hyatt's column on Oregon today reeks of 'spatial profiling'.

Only headline: "Sandusky Writing Book in Prison" -- What's the title? May I suggest, "I'm as innocent as OJ".
---
Online headline: "Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's Husband, Taken To Hospital" -- Whew! At 91, know he's glad he was in England rather than having to pass a 'death panel' under HELL-thSCARE here.
---
Wonder how much in royalties King Arpege gets from China's Obama Fried Chicken?
Picture: 12047394
Bet there'll be a rival fried chicken competitor next week, "Chick -Filet".
---
$1800.00 bucks missing from a desk at CHS. Hmmmm, guess dr. Crumbs is a prophet of sorts. He did predict he couldn't fix stupid.

Heads up from a fellow BCer:
Justin Allen, 23; Brett Linley, 29; Matthew Weikert, 29; Justus Bartett, 27; Dave Santos, 21; Chase Stanley, 21; Jesse Reed, 26; Matthew Johnson, 21; Zachary Fisher, 24; Brandon King, 23; Christopher Goeke, 23; Sheldon Tate, 27.

All are Marines that gave their lives for YOU this week in Afghanistan.
Please pray for their families, and the families and our soldiers still there.

King Arpege is jealously, viviously, attacking a billionaire Jewish philanthropist, Sheldon Adelson, because he's donating to the Conservative political movements, but, of course, the King cannot think of a single slur to make about leftist billionaire George Soros who supports far left movements that support King Arpege.
---
From another BCer:

Not the first time you've seen this, not the last time.
---
Don't you love it when liberals describe themselves when trying to label others? Today's Judy Freaking Brouillette letter is a great example: "...flapped... arms like a giant buzzard astride a corpse".
---
L-E story: "The late Judge Aaron Cohn will be remembered Aug. 26 when the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center unveils a new exhibit on the Holocaust." -- This is a most appropriate way to honor, to remember, Judge Cohn.
---
L-E headline: "Romney seeks to undermine Obama's likability lead in polls" -- Doh! Romney doesn't have to bother with trivial things like that; King Arpege does a great job himself in that department.
---
From L-E story: "At least 13,000 people stood in line in Chicago, clutching reams of paperwork, for a workshop led by immigrant rights advocates at the city's Navy Pier." "At least 13,000 people"? People.. yes.. but more importantly, illegal aliens. Wanna bet that the firsy person to see them after they get work permits and a driver's license will be a DIM&DUMBERat voting register official?
---
Inquiring minds wanna know... which of the Lumpkins attorneys saw the most UGA games using the tickets in question?
---
A baseball 'star' was suspended 50 games for a substance found in a fluid test. Even after seeing his name, I'd never heard of him and didn't know what team he plays for. What a sad state for our 'national pastime'.
---
L-E headline: "Will U,S. ever switch to the dollar coin?" -- Eventually, only we will calling them "pennies" as other coins will be obsolete in commerce.

$30 million? It'll be closer to $45-50 million, and this board knew it from the git-go. The record prior to this SPLOST for any 1 year revenue off a 1% LOST/SPLOST tax was about $36 million, and the MCSD planned to get nearly $45 million a year for 5 years to pay for pipe dreams and such. The real crime is that our media, especially the L-E failed to bring this up during the recent election season. I doubt any of the incumbents would still be serving if this was made known at that time.
---
Three years of collections (courtesy of Mayor Obamalinson) of the same 1% revenues the City has collected on its original LOST tax are as follows:
FY09 $32,109,725
FY10 $35,441,149
FY11 $36,071,189
$103,622,063
The MCSD 1% SPLOST was based on averaging $44,600,000 per year for 5 years. After 3 years, the total receipts should be nearing $133,800,000, and since the two 1% taxes should net the same amounts, the MCSD is ALREADY $30,000,000, not $15,000,000, short. If the MCSD has a different set of figures then some 'splaining' is in order.

With Biden back on the gaffe express, there's still time, reason, and opportunity to replace him with Hillary at the DIM&DUMBERat Convention. Think about it... how many Obama bid Biden bumperstickers have you seen this year?
---
Calling the concrete block sheds the City just bought (for $112,000) an apartment complex is akin to calling a busted fire hydrant a Water Park.
---
Wind energy, according to a liberal pundits, makes up 20% of Iowa's energy. Of course, 100% of that comes from politicians cross-crossing the state during the election season.
What happens during the non-election years?
---
If the Facade Board and Historic Columbus approved the replacement windows on the old 'Iron Bank' at Broadway & 11 St, then we do not need either organization having a say in what other business people want to do to make their properties suit their needs.
"Progress" is preserving nothing!
---
A L-E "soundoff" yesterday reminded us that it was the Republicans who ended slavery in the 1860's, now Republicans are trying to end the slavery of LBJ & the DIM&DUMBERats creating the still present "The Great Society" in the 1960's.
---
Let's see how we can save time and money by combining wishes of the DOT and City Council. The T-SPLOST wants to build a walking/bicycle trail from Rigdon Park to Cusseta Road, and Council wants another Superior Court. How about building a new Court Room/police branch/Mini-Jail as part of the you-know-its-coming concession/bathroom facility on the new walking/bicycling trail. Maybe even add a branch office for the Public Defender, and a Columbus Regional Urgent Care facility.
---
The most interesting revelation about Mark Shelnutt is that Sheriff candidate Pam Brown chose him to represent her at the recount.
---
King Arpege's campaign assassins blatantly accuse Romney of outsourcing jobs to China. His hope for re-election is tied to what he can make people feel about saving their industries as he 'saved' GM, but GM wouldn't exist tomorrow if GM stopped making cars in China today.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "All our best men are laughed at in this nightmare land."- Jack Kerouac, American author (1922-1969) -- Sorta explains why America's best are crying at the thought of another 4 years of King Arpege.
---
I voted once by absentee ballot while I lived in Harris County. I went to the elections office, walked up to the counter, slid my driver's licence to the clerk, who immediately backed away saying she did not want to see it. She would not address my request until I replaced my license into my wallet. She didn't know me from Adam but watched as I marked my ballot. This has to stop.
---
We can honor some people simply by forgetting/not mentioning some less than honorable exploits in their lives.
