Online headline: "Navy tests may kill hundreds of dolphins " -- Hmmm, Navy SEALS brought down Osama bin Laden, but PETA may bring down the Navy SEALS..

---

Announcement: You will not get a Breakfast Club tomorrow. Am taking the day off to do more important things. Will catch up on Monday's edition.

From the "HUH?" department - Online story: "WASHINGTON -- More than 33 million workers qualify to have their student loans forgiven because they work in schools, hospitals or city halls, but too few take advantage of the options because the programs are overly complicated and often confusing, the government's consumer advocate said Wednesday. * Teachers, soldiers, firefighters, policeman – public sector careers invariably involve some effort, some inconvenience or some sacrifice. People give up higher incomes to serve their city, their state or their country," * We believe that people who contribute part of their talents, part of the benefits of their education, to society as a whole should not be mired in debt because they stir themselves to the calling of public service." -- Wait a minute! All of a sudden, government has become it's own self-serving cosmos of 'taking care of us" before taking care of the tax payers who generate the income that pays government services? Going into a job knowing the circumstances ahead does not give reason to complain. Besides, what are they complaining about? Public service jobs are paying more than most front and midline government jobs, allow for retirement after 20-30 years versus retiring at 62 or higher under social security of private sector plans, and way to many have job security way beyond those in private businesses. Government workers should get on there knees in gratitude rather than complaining.

Online story: "Aug 29 (Reuters) - Aetna Inc (3rd largest insurer) has decided not to sell insurance on New York's individual health insurance exchange, which is being created under President Barack Obama's healthcare reform law, the fifth state where it has reversed course in recent weeks."-- Wow! Whatta condemnation of ObamaCare! Can you imagine the amount of revenue is generated by Aetna in New York, and Aetna is walking away from it versus the uncertainty continuing to do business in New York will create for its share holders and customers alike?

---

Online headline/story: "New Illinois law makes flicking cigarette butts a felony, punishable with jail time * Starting next year, Illinois law enforcement will not only be ticketing you for failure to wear a seatbelt or illegal use of a cell phone while driving, they'll also be stopping motorists who flick cigarette butts out their windows. * A first time conviction is a class B misdemeanor with a fine not exceeding $1,500. A second conviction is a class A misdemeanor with a fine not exceeding $1,500. * Third or subsequent convictions will be a class 4 felony, punishable by a fine of $25,000 and imprisonment not less than one year and not more than three years." -- Ironic isn't it.. Judas 00-bama will be able to smoke in the White House unencumbered, but not his home town. Hmmm, don't you know NYC Mayor Bloom-ing-idioy-berg is kicking himself that Chicago scooped him?

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON — Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will officiate at a same-sex wedding this weekend in what is believed to be a first for a member of the nation’s highest court." -- Please, let this be the last one as well!

---

Online story: "SAN DIEGO (Reuters) - Bob Filner's term as San Diego mayor came to a quiet end on Friday as the veteran politician who resigned in the face of a sexual harassment lawsuit stayed out of the public eye on his last day in office." -- Did you notice how quiet the mainstream media became when it realized that Filner was a carbon copy of Bill Clinton? Guess mainstream media didn't want to bring down Hillary in California.

---

WTVM9 story: "Now, USA Today has named the new attraction "Best Manmade Whitewater" in an article called "Built to thrill: 12 crazy man-made adventures". * Peter Bowden from the Columbus Visitors Bureau explains how positive this transformation is for Columbus "We have created a healthier river. We have created the longest urban whitewater course in the world. So, we have done a tremendous amount of heavy lifting" -- Hmmm, once again, the Chattahoochee has been violated by man for personal greed... where is the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper? This project has been a tax payer fraud. One man's dream to restore the Chattahoochee has resulted in more manmade water diverters than the dam portions that were actually removed.

---

WTVM9 story: "MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - An 18-year-old man was convicted of murder in the shooting of a baby who was riding in a stroller alongside his mom in a town in coastal Georgia despite the defense's attempt to cast guilt upon several others, including the child's parents. * De'Marquise (_*_) faces life in prison when he is sentenced at a later date. At the time of the shooting he was 17, too young to face the death penalty under Georgia law." -- You won't hear from me on this subject very often, but we do NEED a new GUN CONTROL law! A law that says that when a teenager takes control of a gun and commits a crime, especially a violent crime, that the protection of being a child under 18 no long applies. This (_*_) will walk among us again... that is so wrong.

---

We're going to miss Judge John Allen. He's retiring from one of our Superior Courts. There's satisfaction in knowing he'll still serve occasionally as a "Judge Emeritus" in the future. Thank you, Judge Allen.

---

Just thinking.... the MCSD seemed to be coming clean over the short fall in SPLOST revenues, but just as quickly, the info stream has dried up.

---

Judas 00-bama told a group of college students that the amount of our national debt doesn't matter. Hmmm, I guess he has to tell'em something to make'em feel good about their student loans' effects on their own future debt.

---

Justice may just get served, after all, to Miley Cyrus. After her awful display on MVA, followed by the outrage of parents who remember the Hannah Montana darling their children adored, Miley may have gotten her career cursed. The Donald, yes the DONALD, has gone public saying he liked her act.

---

Let's face it, Billy Ray Cyrus is now a bigger mullet than the one he used to wear.

---

A few weeks ago, I thought I saw some some flexibility percolating in Bob Beckel and started to actually ingest some of his points of view. Thursday afternoon, Beckel's ranting have forever sealed his liberalism legacy. If I ever mention Bob Beckel mellowing as less liberal... shoot me.

---

Why are legislators concerned about the distractions of cell phones but allow those giant screened TV billboards?

---

You know, if the world sees the chemical threats in Syria as threatening as they are, three questions need to be answered: 1 - why is the USA the only country talking about doing anything?, 2 - why do we allow terrorist leaders into our country with diplomatic immunity, and 3 - why are we members of the UN?

---

Those three teens who beat up the kid on the bus because some school official let it be known that the beaten up kid was the one that snitched on them having drugs... a judge sentenced them to community service and probation. The beaten up kid now goes to another school and is driven by his grandmother. The three teens still know who he is and where he lives, and that the court won't hold them responsible. We all lost.

---

McClatchy story: " In a ruling that gives new momentum to the national push to legalize marijuana, the U.S. Justice Department said Thursday that it would not interfere with plans by the states of Washington and Colorado to sell and tax pot for recreational use beginning next year." -- First, Washington and Colorado aren't waiting i=until next year, but this announcement by the DOJ has to be the worst ruling ever. The feds part of being the glue to keeping us "the UNITED States of America" is to intervene and protect the other states when 1 0r more states pass a law that is contrary to the the laws accepted in the other states. If 75% of the states want a new law (or get rid of one), there is a Constitutional route to doing so. Until such occurence, the federal DOJ cannot vacate its position.

---

McClatchy story: "For the fourth consecutive summer, teen employment has stayed anchored around record lows, prompting experts to fear that a generation of youth is likely to be economically stunted with lower earnings and opportunities in years ahead." -- This is beyond a "blip" in statistics.. this eats a way at the core of the American dream. Too many teens (and unfortunately, adults) are sitting around with too much time on their hands. Idleness promotes crime.. just chalk up the recent trio that tracked the Australian baseball player down and shot him "just for fun" and because they were "bored".

---

A poignant yet caustic L-E "soundoff": "When blacks and whites of all ages can walk the MLK Boulevards of this country without fear of being accosted or worse, then Martin Luther King’s memory will have truly been honored." -- On a timeline, only when the Al Sharptons of this country are no longer listened to, is no longer relevant, and no longer given media exposure, can their be any hope of Martin Luther King's "dream" being fully achieved.

---

Lying low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": " Sorry, pal — my insurance rates went down with Obamacare, and hundreds of people in Columbus have experienced the same. Maybe if you’d stopping fighting it, you’d be happy too. " -- What about your coverage, though? Besides, even if there was a grain of truth here, seems like if only 100s benefit from a community of 250,000, then the community is losing.

---

L-E's "Today in History" feature: "In 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an act prohibiting the export of U.S. arms to belligerents." -- Judas 00-bama is a bigger hypocrite than even the most dedicated right-winger could assert! 00-bama supports all of FDR's socialism programs, but has skipped over the law prohibiting arming third world terrorists.

---

L-E story: "ATLANTA— Georgia state schools Superintendent John Barge says he will be challenging Gov. Nathan Deal in next year’s Republican primary. * Barge said in a telephone interview Friday that he hasn’t seen “a whole lot of vision or support for public education” from Deal and believes voters want a leader “who will govern and not play politics.” -- "not play politics"? What exactly does Barge call what he's doing? Besides, if Barge can't improve education from his role as State Superintendent, how does he think... uh, feel, he can do so from the Governor's chair?

---

From the "only in California" department: "SAN FRANCISCO — A federal appeals court ruled Friday that California can keep in place its ban on the sale of foie gras." -- I can only surmise that the legislature that passed a ban of "foie gras" thought it was stopping "fake grass" from creeping in from Mexico.

---

Another from the "only in California" department: "California should compensate an atheist parolee for returning him to prison after he resisted participating in a religious-based drug treatment program, a federal appeals court decided unanimously Friday. * After Hazle served a prison term, California ordered him to spend 90 days in a residential 12-step program. Hazle said he was atheist and asked for a secular program instead. But state officials told him they had none to offer. * Staff at the state-required treatment center reported that Hazle was disruptive “in a congenial way.” The state revoked his parole and put him back in prison for 100 days. He sued. * A Sacramento federal judge determined that Hazle had clearly suffered a violation of his constitutional rights and ordered a jury to assess monetary damages. The jury awarded zero damages. * “Given the indisputable fact of actual injury resulting from Hazle’s unconstitutional imprisonment, and the district judge’s finding that the state defendants were liable for that injury, an award of compensatory damages was mandatory,” Judge Stephen Reinhardt, an appointee of former President Jimmy Carter, wrote for the panel. The court said another jury must be convened to determine Hazle’s compensation. " -- Will the "Carter Curse" ever end?

Online headline: "US may take unilateral military action in Syria" -- "may take unilateral military action"? This is exactly the damage that Judas 00-bama has inflicted on the reputation of the US... The world doesn't operate efficiently unless the despots KNOW that the US will take unilateral military action!

---

From the "huh?" department - Online headline: "Saudi Arabia Bans Domestic Abuse" -- Judas 00-bama liberalism has escalated into the Middle-East. If you have a problem, "ban it", and it's addressed and gone. That law will be as effective as banning breathing.

---

Online headline: "Obama Briefs John Boehner On Syria" -- Good brief!  Judas "Sgt Schultz" 00-bama says he "doesn't know nothing" about 00-bamaCare, the NSA, the IRS, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, and every other scandal he's in the middle of, how can Boehner (or 'us') believe 00-bama knows anything about Syria?

---

HuffPost headline: "Bush Library Rewrite Website Presents Democratic Version Of President's Legacy" -- Under Judas 00-mama,  the Obamarats become so emboldened, so arrogant that they now no longer want to cover-up their misdeeds?

---

From above story: "according to the Democratic nonprofit group Bridge Project, which focuses on "exposing the conservative movement's dishonest tactics," the library's version of the Bush legacy suffers from selective memory loss. Bridge Project thus created a library of its own Thursday, in the form of a website BushRewrite.org, which the group said will "rectify the falsehoods and omissions of the Bush library." * The timing coincides with the eighth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, a low point of Bush's two-term presidency. The Bush library has already been accused of glossing over Katrina, which killed 1,833 people and destroyed an estimated $81 billion in property." -- 1,833 people were killed during Katrina because the Obamarat Mayor and Obamarat Governor sat on their jackasses and didn't follow the protocols of requesting federal help on a state's issue. It's that simple.

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- New data compiled by a coalition of top scientific and medical research groups show that a large majority of scientists are receiving less federal help than they were three years ago, despite spending far more time writing grants in search of it. Nearly one-fifth of scientists are considering going overseas to continue their research because of the poor funding climate in America. * More than 3,700 scientists from all 50 states participated in the study, offering online responses in June and July 2013. They offered sobering assessments of the state of their profession. Eighty percent said they were spending more of their time writing grants now than in 2010, while 67 percent said they were receiving less grant money now than they were back then. Only two percent of respondents said they had received money from their employers -- predominantly academic institutions -- to make up for the loss of federal funds." -- These must be the ones that think 'global warming' has made their brains overheat.  Which 20% of the 'brainiacs' really believe some other country has better working conditions for them, and if 80% say they spend more time writing for more grants, then we have more scientists we need to begin with. What about eliminating 1/2 of that 80% and give their grant money to the remaining scientist who are actually 'scientisting'?

---

Online headline/story: "Did Life Start On Mars? New Evidence Supports Long-Standing Theory That We Are All Martians * The evidence seems to be building that we are actually all Martians; that life started on Mars and came to Earth on a rock," Dr. Steven Benner of the Westheimer Institute for Science and Technology said in a statement issued before his presentation at the annual geochemistry colloquium. The institute is located in Gainesville, Fla." -- Okayyyyyyy.... Scientist Benner, now what planet dispersed a 'rock' that started life on Mars? Surely, this is the scientist wanting to be the first to leave the US because grant money is harder to get.. I surely hope so.

Proof we have too many lawyers - Online headline/story: "Naked Juice Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Over Health Claims Means $9 Million For Consumers * If you purchased a Naked Juice product between Sept. 27, 2007 and Aug. 19, 2013, listen up. As part of a class action lawsuit over the brand's alleged misuse of health phrases, which parent company PepsiCo settled for $9 million, you may be entitled to a fistful of cash. * PepsiCo refutes these claims, but agreed to a settlement that doles out up to $75 to Naked Juice consumers who can provide proof of purchase and up to $45 to those who can't." -- "$45 to those who can't" prove they bought the product? What is this... "00-bama-Kool-Aid? Naturally, you can file via your 00-bamaPhone.I guess this was a pimple on Pepsi's rear end that was cheaper to 'pop' than carry on. If you want to get $45.00, you can file a claim here.. https://www.nakedjuiceclass.com/ .

---

Online story: "NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) plumbers and plasterers made up 12 of the 20 city employees who piled up more than $100,000 in overtime in the fiscal year that ended in June. *  * That includes NYCHA supervisor plumber William Naddeo, a 17-year veteran of the agency who took home more OT than any other city employee for the second year in a row, according to city payroll data. * He raked in $140,654 in overtime for 1,500 extra hours of work on top of his $88,288 base pay." -- You would think the NYCHA would realize it would be cheaper to hire more full time plumbers/plasters, but, then again, we're talking about a city that has hundreds of teachers sitting in 'detention' all day collecting salaries/benefits even though they had infractions that had them removed from actual classrooms.

---

Online headline: "America’s Most Popular Six-Figure Jobs" -- Contrary to popular fast-food workers' belief, order taking and burger flipping at franchise restaurants aren't even close. Now, their are such goals if they would get their education, work hard, save their money, and start their own businesses.

---

It is not a business's job to make you rich. If you work hard for someone and make them prosperous, you become valuable enough that the business owner will want to make sure you get wealthy along the way. Econ 101.

---

That (_*_) judge in Montana who sentenced that teacher 30 days for raping a 14 year old student has apologized. Sincere or not, that is not enough. Resignation is not enough, either.

---

From the "only in California" department - Online headline: "Court upholds law banning therapy to change sexual orientation" -- You know, some therapist group will file a class action suit against the government claiming such a law infringes on their business opportunities.... and rightfully win!

---

Online story: "Convicted Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) is scheduled to receive $8,700 per month in government disability pay, as well as a partial federal pension of $45,000. That generous $8,700 in disability comes thanks to Jackson’s sudden development of a “mood disorder” as the federal government began looking to indict him. Jackson, who was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, had no history of mental illness during his prior 17 years in Congress." -- You know, New York City Housing Authority plumbers making $100K in "overtime pay" is easier to swallow than this.. the plumbers are actually working.

---

From the "good grief" department: Online headlinestory: "ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Miami District Office of the U.S.  Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) entered into a Memorandum of  Understanding (MOU) in Orlando today with the Consulate General of Mexico in  Miami and Consulate of Mexico in Orlando.   The agreement establishes an ongoing collaboration between these  entities to provide Mexican nationals with information, guidance, and access to  resources on the prevention of discrimination in the workplace regardless of  immigration status.  Mexican Consul Efran  Nicolas Leyva Acevedo of Orlando and Miami District Office Director Malcolm S.  Medley signed the agreement.  Acting  Mexican Consul General Vladimir Hernandez Lara of Miami signed the document  prior to the meeting today. * "By signing this  Memorandum of Understanding today with the Mexican Consulate, we of the EEOC's  Miami District have solidified our continued and longstanding commitment to this  underserved community," said Medley.  "This  agreement provides the opportunity for ongoing education, outreach and service  by the EEOC to Mexican nationals in our area.  We look forward to a long-lasting and  significant partnership." -- Illegal aliens have just been given more rights and protection than leagl citizens of America! We are more endanger of losing our right to vote before the next elections than we've ever thought about. ---
What's next for the DOJ... suspend all voters' rights who have already gotten a photo ID?
---
The next time you hear anyone complain about the US Constitution considering blacks as on 3/5ths of a person, let them know that this was a compromise demanded by the smaller New England holier-than-thou states who were concerned the Southern states would become so populous that the Southern states would gain complete control of the House. The Southern states wanted everyone to be counted as a complete person.
---
Online headline: "Kim Jong-un's ex-girlfriend was among a dozen well-known North Korean performers who were executed by firing squad nine days ago, according to South Korean reports. " -- Hmmm, maybe we should send Nidal Hasan to North Korea with a porn video in his luggage and let Kim Jong do tomorrow what Judas 00-bama won't order at all.
---
L-E headline: "POLICE: MAN KILLED OVER FAKE MONEY * Morris accused in slaying after drug deal with victim, no bond set for murder charge" -- Headline be damned... this is not a story about counterfeit money.. or even drugs... it's about recidivism and culture collapse; neither of which will go away by themselves without terminal sentences for drug marketing and firearm use during criminal activity.
---
L-E headline: "UNITED WAY OF THE CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY * $7M, Jack! * United Way announces fundraising goal during ‘Duck Dynasty’-themed 2013 campaign kickoff luncheon" -- You know, I do wish that the L-E and other media would also include the last year's results of how much of the pledges (and by whom) weren't made, how much in salaries/benefits/expenses were paid, and how much actually got to the agencies specified for donations. There is so much fanfare made over the kick-off, but that's not what is important.
---
Extremely low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": " If you say that progressives or Democrats are Communists, you admit that regressives or Republicans are Nazis. " -- Where do these people come from... oh, public school systems.
---
Another extremely low-info voter's "soundoff": "Al Sharpton does not need to go to Oklahoma. The three teens were arrested, and will be sentenced and sent to prison where murderers belong." -- Well, we can hope it goes down like this (and in our lifetime), but Al Sharpton showing up only at his version of hate/racism crimes is a big part of his lack of credibility anywhere except mainstream media.
---
L-E headline: "IRS issues new tax rules for married gay couples " -- Isn't all the turmoil about getting equal treatment?
---
Bush43 is playing a round of golf today in support of our military. On the other hand, Judas 00-bama plays around with our troops.
---
L-E's "Online comment of the day": "Online comment of the day      “Buffalo Wild Wings have a large sign that says that firearms are not allowed on their property. I guess the robber could not read or see that sign posted.” — From “DS,” response to “Buffalo Wild Wings robbed.” -- Robbers do like that.. knowing no law abiding citizen or employee is going to have a gun to stop them with.
---
L-E headline: "HEALTH CARE COSTS  * Consultant places blame on providers " -- Hmmm... the old "point your finger at someone else" play.. This guy must have learned this directly from Judas 00-bama himself.

Thursday, August 29, 2013

Deja vu... 50 years ago yesterday, MLK,Jr gave one of the most cited speeches in American history. At that time, President Kennedy, Attorney General Robert Kennedy, and FBI director J. Edgar Hoover had Dr. King under constant and illegal surveillance. Hmmm, sounds a lot like nothing has changed within the Democratic Party in the last 50 years.

---

Online story: "A massive rocket carrying a spy satellite for the U.S. government launched at 11:03 a.m. from the central California coast Wednesday, according to the Associated Press." -- Hmmm, let's get this straight ... government, under Judas 00-bama, can find a way to launch spy satellites for NSA, but cut out space launches for NASA because they cost too much.

---

From the "huh?" department - "Father Jonathan Morris appeared on The O'Reilly Factor to discuss the separation of church and state issue surrounding this push. He said the Catholic Church is actively engaging in immigration reform because as it stands now, the system is unjust. “We, as a country, have some responsibility,” he said, to take care of the people who have crossed our borders illegally." -- Talk about a real need to Constitutionally separate Father Morris from the state! Catholics, truly American citizen Catholics better cut this off at the bud. Sounds like the Catholic politicos are going to be like the union bosses.. do and say politically what it feels puts it in favoritism of liberals, regardless of how the membership thinks.

---

Online story: "Russell Ireland, owner of Big I's in Oxford, told Air Force veteran James Glaser and his dog, Jack, to leave the diner Saturday. Ireland said at the time that he didn't really believe Jack was a service dog because Glaser allowed people to pet and feed it, unlike the service dogs he has seen with other customers." -- I bet this guy probably would be pleased to serve coffee to the 2 Bomber Brothers. Write his place off if you're headed that way. Perhaps, even, put some doggie poop in a paper bag, put it on the restaurant threshold, light it, then step back and watch the fun.

---

Online headline/story: "Nationwide Fast-Food Strikes Set For Thursday * It's expected be the largest nationwide strike by fast-food workers, according to organizers. The biggest effort so far was over the summer when about 2,200 of the nation's millions of fast-food workers staged a one-day strike in seven cities. * Thursday's planned walkouts follow a series of strikes that began last November in New York City, then spread to cities including Chicago, Detroit and Seattle. Workers say they want $15 an hour, which would be about $31,000 a year for full-time employees. That's more than double the federal minimum wage," -- "Better than double the federal minimum wage"? It's even better that the starting salary for teachers in 8 states. Just think how much money we could save by closing most high schools and colleges, and telling displaced teachers they can get a job next to former students (who saw no value of learning from their teachers) for more money. Better yet, wait until parents learn they don't have to send their kids to college at all!

---

Comment for above story: What the workers don't know is that "IF" they got such a raise, their hours would be cut in half, engineers would create robots that can do their jobs for less, so they'd have either no job or a job that doesn't have any benefits... or both.

---

Online headline/story: "Newspaper claims Weiner sunk to embarrassing low * The embattled mayoral candidate, who has been stuck in a distant fourth place following revelations he continued to sext after he resigned from Congress in 2011, is reportedly employing actors from Crowds on Demand to pose as normal New Yorkers." -- Hmm, so the New York Post thinks that having shills in the crowd is lower than sexting ;
'weiner pics (and pecs)" to other people's daughters? Things are worse in NYC than we thought.

---

Online story: "NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 20-year-old daughter of country star Alan Jackson has been charged with assault, underage drinking and resisting arrest. She is accused of striking a police officer and then invoking her father's name during a traffic stop in Nashville. * The affidavit says Jackson resisted when officers went to handcuff her and she later told police she had been drinking. As she was being booked into the jail, she told the officer that her father "would do anything I wanted him to do." WSMV-TV reports she was released early Wednesday." -- "would do anything I wanted him to do"? The story didn't say, but let's hope Alan Jackson did the RIGHT thing... let her stew in jail overnight.

---

Online story: "A former Montana high school teacher convicted of raping a 14-year-old female student who later committed suicide will face only 30 days of jail time.  * Stacey Dean Rambold, 54, had at least three sexual encounters with student Cherice Morales in 2008. In 2010, the student committed suicide a few weeks before her 17th birthday, The Billings Gazette reported. * Yellowstone County Judge G. Todd Baugh sentenced Rambold to 15 years prison, with all but only 31 days suspended for sexual intercourse without consent. The judge then gave Rambold credit for one day served, bringing the offender's total jail time to just 30 days. * The judge said victim Morales was "as much in control of the situation" as Rambold" -- "The judge said victim Morales was "as much in control of the situation" as Rambold"? Sentences, plus statements like this are why judges should be vetted before every election! True justice would be for the girls father to have the teacher's and judge's heads stuffed and mounted in the father's 'man cave'.

---

Last month's report of my Atlanta area truck traffic economic indicator was a false positive. Yesterday's truck traffic was rather sparse for a business day.

---

Online headline: "Obama says more work needed to achieve ideals from King's 'Dream' speech" -- I agree, but to get that, we need LESS Jackson, LESS Sharpton, and LESS Judas 00-bama.

---

Online story: "Shellie Zimmerman, the wife of George Zimmerman, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge of perjury. * She will be placed on probation for one year, is required to perform 100 hours of community service, and must pay court costs. She also must file a letter of apology within 30 days to Judge Kenneth Lester, who presided over her husband's case at the time the perjury was committed. * Prosecutors said Shellie Zimmerman lied when she told Lester during an April 2012 bond hearing for her husband that the family was indigent. In fact, they argue, George Zimmerman actually had about $135,000 at the time." -- This is a vengeful travesty! The Zimmerman's were being politically persecuted by the state of Florida at the time, and that looks like enough "mitigating circumstances" for Florida's governor to step in and dismiss and charges (and the appointed special prosecutors and this judge)).

---

Online story: "Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was sentenced to death Wednesday for killing 13 people and wounding 32 others in a 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Tex., the worst mass murder at a military installation in U.S. history. * No active-duty service member has been executed since 1961, and legal experts said it will probably be many years, if ever, before the sentence will be carried out." -- " it will probably be many years, if ever, before the sentence will be carried out"? This would be a greater travesty of justice than the crime committed! Contact your Congresspeople and ask, no, DEMAND, that a member of each of the 13 people he killed be given a spot in a firing squad and set that up for today!

---

McClatchy headline/story: "Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano bids farewell * Napolitano presided over a near doubling of border patrol agents and a drop in illegal border crossings to the lowest level in decades." -- Surely she not claiming to have caused the drop in illegal aliens crossing the border at will... that was because of her boss's lousy economy didn't provide jobs here that made it worthwhile for illegal aliens to bother! Let's focus on her not handling the Boston Marathon bombing, and driving up the cost of ammunition to civilians and police departments country-wide.

---

One of our fellow BCers has just been recognized as one of "40 under 40" up & coming attorneys for his work in the GA Senate. Bravo!

---

L-E story: " a decade ago only about 4 out of 10 American adults had access to the fastest broadband Internet, and less than 7 percent possessed a smartphone. Flash forward to today, he (AT&T Chief Strategy Officer John Stankey)  said, and most people surf the web fairly seamlessly, with more than 52 percent of people carrying around a smartphone, a number growing each and every day." -- What's scary is how many of those are ObamaPhones.

---

Why are our military academies still open? The graduates have to serve under an anti-American president who is a threat to the world as we know it.

---

One of the questions asked (though not answered well) in the L-E today was "Which colleges' graduates earn the highest salaries?"  If there is anything useful here, it should be compiled as a list of appropriate jobs that deserve to be considered for government backed student loans.

---

In an attempt to make a name for herself, Miley Cyrus, instead, has made a shame for herself. She... we... were a lot better off when she was known as Hannah Montana.

---

Online headline/story: " California is considering allowing non-citizens to serve on juries, a local California public radio station reports. * Under AB1401, non-citizen legal permanent residents would be allowed to serve on juries. Federal law allows such residents – sometimes called 'Green Card Holders' – to stay in the country as long as they like * Some are in the process of applying for citizenship. Others choose to remain citizens of other countries. * Democratic Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, one of the California bill’s sponsors, told the local station that this should happen because non-citizens live among Americans as peers. * The jury system is based on our peers judging us,” Bob Wieckowski said. “It's only fair, because so many people living in California are legal permanent residents.” * The bill, which faced bipartisan opposition from most Republicans and some Democrats, passed both the state Assembly and Senate and is sitting on Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk awaiting a signature. * This news comes as a similar bill, one that would allow non-citizens to work as paid poll workers at election sites throughout California so they can be Spanish-language translators, also awaits its fate on Brown’s desk." -- "it's only fair, because so many people living in California are legal permanent residents"? I have but one pertinent question to ask... when is that "big one" eartquake going to send California into the Pacific?

You know, even Chris Matthews is not buying Judas 00-bama's cry out about all the "phony scandals" that are crippling his ability. I guess Chris finally realized the the "tingle" he felt 'running up his leg", was actually Judas 00-bama's "whiz" running DOWN his leg.

Judas 00-bama has hit the bottom of the barrel in popularity. Obamarat sycophant, Alan Colmes just expressed his disappointment because he had voted for the "anti-war" candidate.

Online headline: "Syria Chemical Weapons UN: Ban Ki-moon Pleads For More Time To Conduct Probe " -- Hmmm, I guess when we see "UN action", we're dyslexic... it really reads "un-action".

We should take the Mideast mess into our own hands. Every one who didn't vote for Judas 00-bama chip in, we hire Orkin to "tent" the entire area and set off sarin gas Roach bombs to fumigate the entire area.

---

Or... To solve mainstream media's quandry, maybe we should provide chemical weapons to both sides in terrorist countries, then surround their borders so no one gets out.

It's comical to watch and hear Jay Carney 'parrot' Judas 00- bama's flip-flops. What's going to happen when 00-bama changes his mind in the middle of a Carney 'spin'?

I'm sure "they" are not the reason for such butchery, but before internet & TV, we just didn't have the sickness like this jammed into our faces.

From the "suspicions confirmed" department - L-E story: "USA Today has published a feature listing “12 of the greatest man-made adventures on the planet,” and listed Columbus’ own urban whitewater course as the world’s No. 1 man-made whitewater attraction. * The article, written by Brian Berkovitz of  TheActiveTimes. com   and published on USA Today’s website, lists a dozen, “awe-inspiring (and safe) wildlife encounters, outdoor thrills brought indoors and amazing ‘natural’ features that were deftly built with human hands.” -- Well, this confirms it.. this was not a restoration project that the public was duped into financing.. The Committee to PAVE the Chattahoochee should be sued to pay all the money back that came from non-private sources, and IRS should disallow any private money from being considered a tax deductible donation.

Very, VERY low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": If Republicans didn’t arm every bad guy with a gun, Americans wouldn’t have to waste tax dollars hiring good guys with guns to protect us. L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Scientists have found a compelling clue in the quest to learn what causes age-related memory problems, and to one day be able to tell if those misplaced car keys are just a senior moment or an early warning of something worse. Columbus L-E editorial comment about military troop reduction to the lowest level since 1939: One other comment from the general deserves special attention: Americans, he said, get “the Army you’re willing to pay for.”  *  We want to hear from you! We have a new flying at the Washington gathering:
Commemorating the 1963 march on Washington for civil rights
I call it the new AmeriKan Phlag
---

Online story: "Judicial Watch obtained 133 pages of teaching materials [PDF] in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. According to JW, that educational material – a January 2013 Air Force student guide labeled “Extremism” – advises students to be aware that “many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.” Under a section labeled “extremist ideologies,” the material states: “In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples.” -- Hmm, individual and states' rights are extremism... only in AmeriKa under the AmeriKan Phlag.

Online headline/story: "2013 MTV VMAs: Everything Was Black, Except The Winners * Everything about this year's Video Music Awards was black, from its Brooklyn venue to Miley Cyrus' disturbing twerking. What wasn't black, however, were the award winners. Zero, count them, zero of last night's televised honorees were black" -- Hmmm I have to disagree vehemently.. the whole industry gave itself a huge black-eye.

---

Online story: "Obama revealed that he had see Daniels' feature and that it made him "tear up." *"All of the acting was terrific, and I thought Forest Whitaker was wonderful," Obama said. "And Oprah, my girl, she can act. She's just a wonderful actress." * "I teared up just thinking about not just the butlers who have worked here in the White House, but an entire generation of people who were talented and skilled, but because of Jim Crow, because of discrimination, there was only so far they could go," -- "Jim Crow"? How does a butler's job serving 8 different presidents become a "Jim Crow" issue? How much further could a butler, an honorable centuries old profession, hope to aspire? In fact, how many people can afford a butler?
---
From WRBL3 news story: "Marquese Averett, president of the Young Minority Leaders, agrees. "There's this school-to-prison pipeline," he says, "Florida's still standing their ground, New York's still stopping and frisking, and so 50 years later I don't think the dream has been realized." -- "I don't think the dream has been realized"? This should be a wake-up call... None of the so-called 'old guard black leaders' has tried to make "the dream" come true.. all have been interested in what they could get out of "racism" for themselves.  Fortunately, after 50 years, attrition is starting to take place, and another generation, one that really wasn't a part of the pre-60s conditions, won't have that 'hate' as its driving force.

Online story: "BERLIN — A German court says the country's former president will go on trial on corruption charges in November." -- Hmm since Judas 00-bama believes we should share world laws, wonder if the German Court  will go after him? The latest from www.barackobama/organizingforaction.com - "Hal --
You know what's not funny? When 80 members of Congress say they'll refuse to do their jobs just because they don't get their way." -- Do you wonder if Judas 00-bama is talking about 55 of those being Obamarat Senators not passing a budget so sequestration will end?

WTVM9 story: "MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department is calling citizens to action after a 13 and 15 year old were charged Tuesday with capital murder. * "We need the parents of this city to parents," said Montgomery Police Chief Kevin Murphy who appealed to the city's residents to invest and help stop the violence that could save teens' who are involved in criminal behavior * The youths are charged connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Christopher Lewis Saturday night on Bonaparte Boulevard, the city's 37th homicide of 2013.   * Investigators determined the boys met the victim on Facebook and arranged a meeting with Lewis. Chief Kevin Murphy say both suspects showed up with guns, robbed Lewis and then shot him.  Lewis was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. " -- How many more minor street thugs are going to escape death sentences because of their age? When a teen intentionally picks up a gun and uses it as a weapon of death in another crime, all claims and privileges of childhood should be stripped from the justice equation.
---
WTVM9 headline: "GA Power warns customers against scammers posing as employees" -- Well, the PSC should be warned of GA Power lobbyists scamming for higher rates as well.
---
I'm one who doesn't like to get in the way of busy man hard at work at his trade, but someone needs to knee-cap the public defender representing the teen who shot the 13 month old baby. His handling, his attack on the mother was beyond civility. Even though  the killer isn't eligible for the death sentence, the jury should consider it for the lawyer.
---
Random thought: As long as we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of MLK's "dream" speech from Washington, DC, let's pray the current black leaders will actually listen to what Dr King said, and adopt his dream as their own. Enough of the racism they have prolonged.

Online story: "Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday responded to a federal court order to significantly reduce California’s prison population by proposing a $315 million plan to send thousands of inmates to private prisons and vacant county jail cells, hoping to avoid what he said would be a mass release of dangerous felons. * He noted that California has already reduced the prison population by some 46,000 inmates to comply with the court’s orders and said only the most dangerous convicts remain in state prison." -- Hmm, you have to wonder if Gov Brown may not want to send absentee ballots this time around to the ones he doesn't let out...
---
What is wrong with the military tribunal deciding Nidal Hasan's sentence? The Muslim jihadist has already said he wants death so what is the tribunal waiting for? This sounds like a spoof of Uncle Remus's Br'er Rabbit confusing Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox from cooking him.

Hoaxes... Two major ones perpetuated by liberals have been outed. A "mom" said a big white redneck assaulted her son for wearing a pink hairband, and Oberlin College melted down as another white redneck graffitied the "n-word" all over campus. Video at Walmarts showed no such event happened, and the Oberlin College turmoil was caused by a very leftist troublemaker intentionally causing such. The mainstream media dropped coverage like the plague, but did nothing to correct its rush to judgment.
---
Listening to Bob Beckel rant on "The Five" about photo IDs as a voting issue while ignoring the obvious social issues of crime, drugs, unwed pregnancies , high unemployment, poverty, and high prison occupancy is a preview to the Obamarat game plan for 2014/16.

I will not copy the words from Toni Morrison's "The Bluest Eye", but this book is listed as "exemplar text" for 11th graders un the "Common Core" educational plan. Obviously the reason behind some parents calls for removing the book are the graphic depictions of incest, rape and pedophilia. And not just that, the book actually lets the reader see the depictions from the perpetrators point of view. Have not had a chance to poll our School Board, but will ask them if this is in our schools. Focus your rage on a solution.

Online headline/story: "Dog fighting ring busted: 367 pit bulls rescued * Dog fighting ring spanned at least three southern states. Officials arrested 12 people, seized $500,000 in cash, and rescued 367 dogs involved in the organized dog fighting ring. * Officials with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Humane Society of the United States said the organizations are caring for the animals at undisclosed locations, and the animals will have to be kept as evidence while the case progresses. Eventually, they hope to retrain the dogs and get them new homes." -- Excuse me, but what is the recidivism rate of "saved" pit bulls? I hope lawyers keep a copy of this and sue the hell out of the ASPCA and the Humane Society if any of the "saved" dogs are given to families and small children are injured.

L-E story: "The Jordan High football team sold out of its game against Manchester for a one-time $3,000 payment, athletic director Gerald Turner announced in an email on Sunday. * The game, which was originally scheduled to be played at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Kinnett Stadium, will instead be played at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at Memorial Stadium in Manchester. * It is the fourth home game Jordan has sold for the upcoming season, which begins in earnest this week. The other three — Bowdon, Heard County and Bremen — were sold for $5,500, $5,000 and $4,000, respectively" -- Once again, is this money going into the Jordan coffers or into the MCSD hands? Remember the Nike Basketball scandal?

L-E headline: "Nick Saban: Depth charts a 'chore'" -- Hmmm, now that's a "chore" most coaches would be proud to have.

L-E story: " The U.S. Department of Labor confirmed Tuesday morning that the Occupational Safety   and Health Administration has opened an investigation into the Monday trench collapse at Summit Pointe Apartments. Department of Labor spokesman Lindsay Williams told The Ledger-Enquirer   that an investigation into the safety standards at the site began Monday afternoon. * OSHA officials returned to the scene Tuesday morning, though OSHA can release no findings until the investigation is completed. That process can take up to six months, Williams said. * “Based on what (investigators) find they’ll cite the company for   whatever safety violations that may have occurred,” Williams said. “Then the company either has the option to accept the findings and pay the fines or they can go through an appeals process and state the reasons they think the findings are in error." -- Hmmm, "“Then the company either has the option to accept the findings and pay the fines or they can go through an appeals process and state the reasons they think the findings are in error." ? Sounds to me like OSHA has already 'judged them guilty of something".
---
L-E story: "Fort Benning commander Maj. Gen. H.R. McMaster hinted early in his speech at the possibility of impending news on the Army budget-cutting front. He noted the service could cut its troop strength to 420,000 ultimately as the federal sequestration drama unfolds in the coming weeks. That would be 70,000 fewer soldiers than the previous target of 490,000, which is already down from 570,000 as the nation winds down from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. *  “I think it’s a risk considering what’s taking place around the world,” said Mc-Master. “This will be smallest Army we’ve had since 1939." -- It took Bush43 18 months to get our military manpower up-to-speed to be able to retaliate following 9-11-01 because of Clinton's 'loathing' of our military.......

Richard Hyatt points out the lack of use of the City's bus line. Perhaps if the City would look closely at its routings, it would find that it doesn't serve the areas that have working people looking for an efficient way to get to work. Routes exclusively through areas of high unemployment are not going to be effective, efficient, or prudent.
---
L-E headline/story: "Judge delays Eddings’ contempt of court hearing * Threatened with arrest by Rum-er, Eddings showed up Tuesday with attorneys William Kendrick and Mark Shelnutt. " -- Excuse me, but why is Shelnutt allowed in our courts with a new case? I understood he was sentenced to a two-year exile from Muscogee County less than 2 years ago. To boot, why doesn't the judge demand the $500.00 "contempt of court" fine be paid before he appeals/contests it?
---
From the "huh?" department - L-E story: " WASHINGTON — The nation’s capital is making a push for the 2024 Olympic Games. * DC 2024 president Bob Sweeney calls Washington “the safest and most secure city in the world.” He pointed out that the largest expense of any Olympics is security, and that D.C. has it “built in to our everyday life here in Washington.”  -- Huh?  Even if the rest of the world has forgotten 9-01-11, it hasn't forgotten the FBI ratings of street crime , nor the fact that oir military will not be up to snuff by then after the Judas 00-bama personnel cuts bring our military to it's lowest strength since 1939.

An 89 year old is beaten to death by two 16 year olds in Seattle, and the 2 thugs will be charged/treated like wayward children. BS! Those "children" gave up that when they became gang/street thugs. What's become an attempt at a second chance, an act of compassion is looked on as nothing but weakness.

---

A Harlem mother who has had two sons killed on the streets became a cofounder of a Harlem group of mothers who are trying to get guns off the street. One 14 year old who shot one of her sons has been seen by her less than 5 years later and weilding a gun again. She wants the "stop & frisk" to continue. Yes, she says, ' it is profiling' but that's what is needed.

L-E headline: "Kerry: Syrian use of chemical weapons is ‘undeniable’" -- Looks like Secretary of State Kerry may not be as secure in his job as were Hillary and Susan King, and Lois Lerner. Kerry's not so willing to fall on the sword for Judas 00-bama.

From the "How'd this happen" department. We're talking about Social Security Cards and the link to your financial records and identity fraud. This is a partially redacted picture of my "ORIGINAL" social security card:

How did we let it get used for financial identification? Remember when Georgia tried to make it your Driver's License number? Fortunately, enough of us refused to use it as it was such a direct link to the fraud that's perpetuated today. Write/call/e-mail your Congresspeople and demand that all records, including medical, be purged of such info.

Online story: "The lead prosecutor in the murder case of an Australian man who was allegedly gunned down by three Oklahoma teens last week said that race was not a factor in the shooting death. * The case attracted national attention after police said the suspects confessed to killing Lane because they were "bored" and "decided to kill somebody." " -- "race was not a factor"? Hmm, OK, how many black people did they kill 'just for fun' that day?

---

Mainstream media has gasped at Liz Cheney's comment that "we know that recruitment goes on through mosques". Why is the mainstream media shocked? We see hatred recruited through the ministry of black churches at a more alarming rate than of the mosques. Our current President, Judas 00-bama was under the spiel of the not-so-reverend Jeremiah Wright for 20 years.

---

President Bush43 had his hands full with international politicic and wars, and didn't do as good a job on domestic issues as he, nor we, would have liked to have had done. Judas 00-bama has not done well with either aspect, domestic or foreign, and only has himself and the Obamarat Party to blame.

---

There was a ceremony to honor Ty Carter as the 5th living Congressional Medal of Honor recipient . Only Judas 00- bama would turn such an event into such a blatant political opportunity.

Online story: "The Chicago Board of Education — hand-picked by (Mayor Rahm)Emanuel — voted in May to close about 50 elementary schools and programs, a move Emanuel and schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett said would allow the district to improve academics and help pay down a $1 billion budget deficit. * Busy, unfamiliar streets were made a bit friendlier Monday, the first day of school in Chicago, thanks to hundreds of newly hired safety guards. But some parents expressed doubt the effort would protect their children, who now must cross gang boundaries to get to their new classrooms after their old ones closed. * Critics of the school closings said minority students were disproportionately affected and that many students would now have to cross dangerous gang boundaries. Some families sued, but a federal judge refused to halt the plan." -- "students would now have to cross dangerous gang boundaries"? Oh, "gangs" had their own schools? Makes sense now.. street fights and such were just school rivalries. Wonder who won the 2013 City Championship?

Online headline/story: "Conn. Officer Kills Lizard Found Menacing Chickens * The officer was forced to shoot the reptile to protect fellow patrolmen, the town's animal control officer and the chickens, police Lt. Michael T. Finkelstein said Monday. * "There really was no safe manner to stop it," Finkelstein said." -- Hmmm, interesting... Since it's OK to shoot a lizard that attacks chickens in Connecticut, shouldn't it be OK to shoot 'lizards' that attack 6 year old children at schools? Think how many chickens would have lived had the chicken's owners had a gun to shoot the lizard themselves. Wonder how many chickens died before the police could answer a 911 call?

McClatchy story: "LOS ANGELES — The University of California, San Diego and University of California, Riverside are first and second in the annual "socially conscious" ranking of national universities being released Monday by Washington Monthly magazine. * For the fourth year in a row, the San Diego campus topped the Washington Monthly list, which emphasizes such factors as enrolling and graduating low-income students, supporting research and encouraging students' public service. * ." -- Has it come to this... that colleges in California get top ratings for recruiting and graduating future government workers who may or may not have any business or economic skills/education? And it's not just those two universities.. forther in the syory it's disclosed that "The 10-campus UC system once again did very well, with four campuses in the top 10 and six in the top 25. UC Berkeley was fifth, UCLA 10th, UC Santa Barbara 22nd and UC Davis 23rd. California has over 20% of the required 270 Electoral College votes to elect our presidents.

---

From a fellow BC... Quote worth nailing to the wall of every mainstreet media's editor:

In case you missed it, here's the latest plan being pushed by some members of the House: Cut all funding for Obamacare, or shut down the government." -- This is the Obamarat game plan, and how it will be reported by mainstream media. Why do Republicans set themselves up so easily?

From another BCer:

"Nuts"? Not if you are an Obamarat.. debt is the easiest way to control a person's life and vote.

McClatchy headline: "Obama position on fracking leaves both sides grumbling" -- That must have been awkward... Judas 00-bama actually saying something while looking directly into a camera so the whole audience could see both sides of his mouth moving in opposite directions at the same time.

---

McClatchy headline: "Students press feds to get tough on campus sexual assault" -- Hmmm, how about starting with a return to separate dorms versus separate floors/wings or alternating rooms? How about enforcing alcohol and recreational drug use on campus? How about allowing Christian associations and facilities on campus? There are a lot of things that can be done, but it won't because liberal campuses are a must in a socialist government indoctrination of students.

---

We checked "Argo" out of a Red Box this weekend. Not a bad flick, though some accuracies need to be questioned before it's shown in our high school history classes... especially the end-of-show comment about the other Irani hostages being release on January 21, 1981... while it didn't credit Carter, it absolutely ignored Reagan.

L-E headline/story: "Disabled renter says manager harassed him * Shaffer recorded conversation, including threats of eviction * Shaffer, who has been disabled since birth and uses a wheelchair, said he was called into an Aug. 16 meeting by Stonewood property manager Allison Snipes. He showed up, started the video recorder on his iPhone — apparently without her knowledge — and taped the 6-minute, 24-second conversation. * For the apartment, Shaffer pays $170 per month and receives the remaining $400 from a federal Section 8 subsidy." -- You know, I sympathize whole heartedly with the man's plight of having a faulty refrigerator, but I am discourgaed that his apartment is subsidized 70% by us, but he has an Apple iPhone.

Confirming L-E "soundoff": " They make a car now that can predict a possible accident before it happens. That thing will be going off like crazy for anyone trying to get on or off the J.R .Allen. ---

L-E's "Quotable": â€Å“Our freedom can be measured by the number of things we can walk away from.” -- Vernon Howard American author (1918-1992) -- Liberal tripe! It depends on how you walk away from "things"... either with your head held high, or your hands held high.

---

L-E picture of still-not-completed 14th Street 'bridge':

What's with those visual structures on the 'bridge'? They seem to offer no shade or rain relief, yet occupy valuable space where spectators could enjoty the view of the river and rapids. Even more interesting is, why are those 'features' already finished yet the 'bridge' is way behind schedule?

---

L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * Grants let schools benefit from podcasts * The goal is for the military dependents to average an increase of 7.5 percent in math and science on the CRCT. The district is on target to meet that goal. * â€Å“There is no doubt that the podcasts are assisting to increase test scores, (Tina) Cross ( the district's grant administrator) said. L-E story: "MARIETTA, Ga. — A man accused of fatally shooting a baby in coastal Georgia hid a gun at a relative’s apartment the day after the slaying, and his mother and sister came to get it, a woman who lives in the home said Monday. * At the time of the shooting he was 17, too young to face the death penalty under Georgia law. " -- Letting one's age determine whether or not a death sentence can be given and carried out is no longer a valid issue. Today's street thugs abandon their childhood rights when they take possession of a gun and use it to commit crimes.

Online headline/story: "U.S. Interior Department Overhauls Process For Recognizing Indian Tribes * Kent, Conn. - His tribe once controlled huge swaths of what is now New York and Connecticut, but the shrunken reservation presided over by Alan Russell today hosts little more than four mostly dilapidated homes and a pair of rattlesnake dens. * In Connecticut, recognition has meant an entry into lucrative gaming markets. Russell, 67, said his 100-member tribe wants its own casino but not on its 400-acre reservation ringed by the Appalachian Trail *  A business consultant for the tribe, Bill Buchanan, said it has spoken with potential investors and, assuming it wins recognition, would like to swap some land, team up with one of Connecticut's bigger cities and perhaps build a casino along a highway." -- Idea, why not give Manhattan back upon the return, at today's prices plus interest, of the beads and such that the Indians were paid. Hey, and even better idea.. let's find a tribe we can give Washington, DC to, and start over as 50 independent states who can start living off our own Constitutions!

Online story: "WASHINGTON — Former Secretary of State Colin Powell called the jury verdict that cleared the killer of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin "questionable" and urged President Barack Obama to speak more on issues of race during an interview that aired Sunday." -- "speak more on issues of race"? What hasn't he said. Judas 00-bama had an opportunity to advance racial relations in our country as no politician, no citizen has ever has, and he's wasted it and sent everyone he thrown under a bus to the back of the bus again.
---
Colin Powell has become irrelevant. Once a respected man for his vision and integrity, a General, a Secretary of State, he has become a mainstream media dupe. Being respected wasn't enough for him; he has learned he gets more celebrity attention from the media by comments that play into the hands of liberalism.

---
Every time there's a forest fire, on the Left Coast in particular, you have to think, "Would this have been as bad if liberals would let old growth trees to be thinned out, and under brush be cleaned out on a regular basis?"
---
The District Attorney of Stevens County, Oklahoma says he sees nothing racial about 3 bored teens deciding to follow a white man who ran by them, got in a car and followed him until they got close enough to kill him  "just for fun". He doesn't even consider it a "hate crime''.  What's this guy aiming for.. a co-host job with Al Sharpton on the radio?
---
The White House "parrots" have said there is no doubt that Syria has used chemical weapons. Hmmm,  wonder if the White House will confirm, without doubt,  the location of the line Judas 00-bama drew?
---
Quote passed on by a fellow BCer: ""Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business and eventually degenerated into a racket." Eric Hoffer, The Temper of Our Times." -- Must be the motto and model of Chicago politics.
---
I tell you what... conflicting ideas about the future of the Liberty District and proposals of revamping Martin Luther King  Blvd are refreshing. In the past, one-directed-direction by the black bloc vote has crippled politics and growth in Columbus, so maybe the black community is relooking at how discussing growth openly and civilly is to the good of the community we all live in.
---
L-E story: "Near the north end of the road (at the South Columbus Sewage Treatment faciliity), next to a water fountain popular with RiverWalk users, three large hardwoods have collapsed into a ditch. It appears that erosion might have felled them, but there are heavy equipment tracks on the flat ground next to where they stood and some serious scarring on the bark. * It looks like they might have been knocked into the ravine instead of just falling. *What's up, Water Works?" -- Hmmm, is the L-E profiling? The L-E should at least give UPtown Columbus a chance to deny it was involved as it has recently been the culprit of tree trimming without permission.
---
L-E story: "Columbus Fire & EMS Water Rescue pulled a man’s body out of the Chattahoochee River Sunday afternoon. " -- Hmmm, the body didn't appear to have on a PFD as required.. Wonder if his estate will be sent a ticket for that?
---
You know, the city should ban men from running/walking/biking about town without shirts. Either that or allow women the same right.
---
Undetermined status L-E "soundoff": "I don’t owe any rich person or corporation anything; I’m nobody’s lapdog. I earn everything I get. " -- Hmmm, this one is somewhat of an enigma... either the guy is a -pulled-ownself-up-by-my-own-bootstraps success story, or any one of the 47 million Obamarat voters that consider entitlements a career.
---
Low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "We can send $1.5 billion to Eqypt but have to cut 57,000 children from the Head Start program. Where are our priorities? " -- Whoa! Judas 00-bama decided both of those actions. He got the last "continuous resolution" to keep the government running by promising to select and make 2.5% cuts in operations if a budget could not get passed. 00-bama chooses to support the Muslims while cutting an entitlement program he can get the mainstream media to blame Republicans fo doing.

L-E story: "ALBANY, N.Y. — As a lobbyist in New York’s statehouse, Stephen Acquario is doing pretty well. He pulls down $204,000 a year, more than the governor makes, gets a Ford Explorer as his company car and is afforded another special perk: Even though he’s not a government employee, he is entitled to a full state pension. * He’s among hundreds of lobbyists in at least 20 states who get public pensions because they represent associations of counties, cities and school boards, an Associated Press review found. Legislatures granted them access decades ago on the premise that they serve governments and the public. In many cases, such access also includes state health care benefits." -- GA is not one of the 20, but Alabama is. Most of the 20 states are looking into this practice, but don't hold your breath.. not much will change as it means fgoing against the teachers' unions.
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Mary-Pat Hector of Atlanta was operating much like a 1960s civil rights activist as she laid plans for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. She was constantly on the phone as she confirmed event details, tweaked the draft of the speech she gave at Saturday’s rally at the Lincoln Memorial and prepared for a presentation. * Mary-Pat is 15 years old. *  Mary-Pat are not letting age get in the way as they (sic) seek more than a contributing role in the push for social reform." -- You know, the way the media acts about things, it must consider King's life wasted. The media doesn't acknowledge the great changes that have occurred. Let's hope the next generation that picks up the torch get King's "dream" back on course.... equality also means that the media also reports things as they are in reality.

I guess we'll never have to worry about having armed guards in the MCSD school system.. our MCSD board removed paddles, so we know how they must feel about guns.
